When my 2005 avalanche 1500 is running my lights flicker bad they go from bright to dim outside and inside the cab what could this be?

I just had this problem. There was a screw loose on the hi-beam switch. You have to take off the plastic cover on the steering column to get to it. Really simple to fix yourself (5 minutes tops). 4 screws and the turn of a small wrench. Free if you do it yourself, $600 if you take it to the dealer.

It is caused usually when the arternator is going bad

Check you power leads to the fuse box and check the battery connections as well. Also, consider having the battery load tested if it is nearing the end of its life.

See if the turn signals work,and the flashers,the problem,is most likely in one of the flashers,they are stuck,the flasher.

you problem without doubt,is you need a relay for your bright lights,very common ,, the current draw is too great for the system.,,so the overload cuts in,switches them off.you probably have spotlights on the same circut,fit a relay and you will have no more trouble

Hello,I see you have a problem with your low beams inoperative.It sounds as if your multi function switch has either gone bad. If you will dim and brighten your lights the switch may go back to working. You have to shake it in all directions.
