Hello John---On the 2000 Durango the resistor should be directly underneath the passenger side glove box. So if you look directly up from underneath the passenger floor, you should see the long skinny rectangular wiring harness with one -8mm screw on each end...A 1/4" drive ratchet with extension and swivel joint will make it easier to reach and remove. A new resistor is a dealer item only i believe, that costs about $18...I hope this helps...good luck with your Durango.
If you don't see it under the passenger side of the dash near the blower motor than it is under the plastic cowl that is under the wiper blades on the passenger side.
