2006 envoy gas gage

It seems that while my envoy is in park it will register the actual fuel amount but as I drive, it slowly falls to E... I thought it could be the gas cap but it will still register actual fuel amount without a cap on while in park. Any suggestions? gas gauge sensor

Your gas gauge sensor is most likley the problem on alot of new cars they measure your fuel off an average of were your float is at. like if your not moving it stays in one spot but as you move the float moves and reads the lowest amout that it is averaging and if your float keeps reading low your going to read that you have alot less gas than you really do. have you tried filling the tank all the way and see what it does? if it stays at full until you use some gas and your float starts moving your gas gauge will probley go down in that case its the fuel sensor if this dont help let me know and ill c what i can find out for you

I just had the same problem and the dealer told me that it was an erratic gas gauge. They needed to fix it.

2006 Nissan Pathfinder SE is registering a code P043: Fuel Level Sensor A Ckt High Input. Dealership diagnosed Service Engine Soon Light as "Fuel Delivery System" needs replaced. Wondering if...

They are the same. The level switch in the sending unit has shorted out. This will not affect the performance of the car. Like you said it only affects the gauge. The switch can't be purchased seperate from the sending unit. Just guessing yours is $400.00 to $500.00. I would live with out it untill the fuel pump went out. Just estimate the mileage with the amount (gallons) you put in.

I think te gas gage im my 2004 GMC Envoy is reading too low. How can I tell and and what could the problem be?

if you put any gas in the fuel tank the fuel gauge needle should move toward full mark.if not you have a faulty fuel level sending unit.its in the fuel tank attach to the fuel pump assembly.

Gas gauge problems

Common problem on the 03-06 Envoy instrument clusters for the fuel gauge to go out. It's usually caused by one of two main problems, either the stepper motor on the cluster's circuit board is going out or the sending unit on the fuel pump is going out. Check out this blog post about the problem - Envoy fuel gauge problems

Gas gage not working, gas tank seems full but it is not

You will need to remove the fuel tank from the truck and replace the fuel pump/fuel level sensor module that is inside the fuel tank. Use extreme caution when doing this as there is a real fire hazard.

Gas gauge is moving back and forth.

hello! there, fuel gauge not accurately reading or registering your actual fuel, this can spend costly so much on refueling of gas due to worries on drying of tank.there are factor to check on fuel sensor this maybe malfunction,or check the fuel lever sensor this was located on your fuel tank,This should be done on car service center
not by yourself this is due to hard work besides fuel is flammable in small spark of igniton by a certain object.be sure to take all necessasry precaution on doing this.so its beteer qualified mechanic to this.thanks and regads..

Fuel gage goes to zero and then to full while driving

Sounds like the sending unit is bad, which is in the gas tank.

Gas gauge not woking properly gas tank only accepts a little gas

a fuel sending unit seems to be the most popular solution. the part is about $40. I think the labor is what's going to kill you.
