When I turn the key, it is like the battery is dead, nothing happens. I have battery power because the lights and stereo work. After I turn the key 5 or 6 times it will start right up. A few times my battery gauge has gone all the way to + and the check gage light will come on, if I pull over, turn off the ignition, and then start it back up it will go back to normal? any suggestions?
I had a similar problem this week with my 1999 Jeep Cherokee Classic. The problem was when I would go to start the car, nothing would happen. The battery would be working just fine including lights and radio, but it just wouldnt start. I learned to fix the problem by taking the car out of park (automatic) and into drive 1-3 times. Then it starts right up. It must be a sensor in the transmission showing that it is not in Park. I had to really slam into Park a couple of times. I am not sure why this started happening, it was fine last week. Maybe the change in cold temperature.
Burn it!!!!!!

My 1999 cherokee sport just dies on the highway, and when i pull over it acts like the battery is dead when i try to start it, but the lights come on so the battery has power. after letting it sit for a while it will start right up and drive for about 30 minutes and die again. sounds like a sensor but im not sure. anyone have any suggestions?
