Its possible that the fuel pump may have gone bad and needs replacing.have the fuel pressure and volume checked with a gage.fuel pumps go bad as sudden as a light bulb burns out without warning.

You won't know much until you get the computer scanned for trouble codes. Most auto parts stores will scan for free in hopes of selling you some parts.

Consequence: The torque converter drain back valve on affected
vehicles may contain a check ball that swells. A swollen check ball will
restrict fluid flow to the cooler and cause the transmission to
overheat. This could cause transmission damage.
Solution: The torque converter drain back valve assembly must be replaced.
do a self test on your Jeep's computer by turning the ignition key off-on,off-on,off-on ( on is when the dash lights are on, off is one click back). The codes will either flash out on your check engine light in pairs, 5-5 is the end of the test. or if you have a digital odometer the codes will display there. Report back with the codes to help identify any problems.
ask a local mechanic to have a look ,must have a sensor problem somewhere but what?? it would need to do it with the mechanic driving it to know for sure whats wrong ,sorry if iam vauge but we only have diesels here a petrol like this isnt worth anything here maybe a 1000 euros if the right dummy comes along but a diesel manual of this year ?' then put another nought on the end
If your suv idles correctly and runs fine, there's the chance that your fuel pump's check valve is bad. This valve prevents the fuel line to drain emty after turning off the vehicle so now when you try to turn it on again you have to wait till the fuel pump fills the fuel line completely to be able to "feed" the engine. Hope I was clear.
I do not know what the error codes mean but know that When I has the sme problem with my jeep it was the fuel pump. What happens is when it heats up it es less and less fuel and chokes the engine. When cold it runs better. remember gas in the tank helps cool the pump but sounds like your pump needs replacing as it is starting to give out.
You likely have it repaired by now but it sounds like a classic case of oxidized battery or cable connection (sometimes mis-diagnosed as bad battery but cured with new (clean) battery)
