99 lumina keeps blowing 5 amp starter fuse, I changed starter about 6 months ago and it quit , now it has started blowing it again. Only sometimes. Will start when I jump starter if fuse blows.it has always been missing the heat shield could that cause the starter to get 2 hot and cause the fuse to blow?

Replace the starter relay in the fuse box behind the glove box. The fuse ONLY powers the control coil portion of the starter relay. If it's blowing, there's a short in the winding or a short between the relay and the theft deterrent module. Bad relay is most likely culprit

SOURCE: Security Light always on, door lock fuse keeps blowing

This is most likely a problem with your Passlock anti-theft system which is known issue with these cars. Passlock is a "passive" anti-theft system, which means that it will disable your ability to start the car if it thinks there is a problem. The three components that can cause this are: 1) Ignition Switch, 2) Ignition Cylinder, 3) Body Control Module (computer). The dealer is the only one who can solve this problem (unless you can bypass it, but it is not that easy). Estimated repair from most dealers is $800 and up.

SOURCE: 99 VW Beetle blows warm air when you start air conditioner

your condensor fins could be blocked by leaves or other debris on the outside. this component is located right behind the radiator. there could also be an overcharge or under charge in the system. make sure that when you charged the system that you used a good set of gauges to check the system pressures. Also check and make sure that there is not a blockage somewhere in the lines, Usually if there is there is a fine layer of ice surrounding it.

SOURCE: 1993 lumina euro is blowing black out of tailpipe smells gas

Black smoke is unburned gas. If the car is running fine besides the black smoke, it's most likely the Coolant Temperature Sensor. The part is roughly $20 and an easy fix.

PS- I'm guessing your check engine light is on...

Fuse 18 keeps blowing

Once a fuse blows,it does so for a reason
Common Sense
In a 60 year driving career you have maybe 6 fuses blow
Replacing them 5 out of 6 time they blow again
Ask yourself why
You need to find the most logical item in that circuit
& start testing & that usually requires a wiring diagram
or you have no map or now where to start any testing.
Something overloaded a circuit find it & replace it or

Sounds like your starter solenoid is sticking or the ignition switch to keep the starter engaged rotating the engine. First change out your starter solenoid should solve the problem also the starter may be pulling to many amps and blowing the fuse simply because the starter is bad and is going out. Take the starter off take it to autozone have it amp tested or load tested you may find this is your problem from the beginning..Remember to rate my solution thanks in advance

My # 30 fuse keeps blowing... 99 Mercury Cougar

If it is a 7.5 amp fuse, it powers the charge warning light in the cluster and applies voltage to the alternator to make it charge.
You will need someone to trace that circuit and look for a short to ground. It may be in the cluster or in the harness.
Something else besides the fuse is making the car not start.

I'm betting it has something to do with the shift lock actuator or the harness to the actuator. I'm pretty sure it is located on the top of the steering column on your vehicle. The lower part of the dash will need to be removed and then the steering column lowered in order to gain access to it.

This vehicle does have an airbag and unless you experience with airbag systems I would not recommend tackling this yourself.

unplug the interlock. Replace the fuse. Start the vehicle. with your foot on the brake manually release the interlock with you hand and shift through the gears. If the fuse does not blow your on the right track. If the fuse does blow let me know and I'll get you some more info.

99 Dodge stratus blows the fuse to the starter.

Starter could have gotten saturated and leaked into the starter. Take starter to part store to have tested. If leaked in it could short. Or the windings could have blown just enough to cause it to short.
