What oil do i need - 1992 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme

first need to buy oil pressure sending unit 3/8 deep socket remove oil pressure sending unit you need teflon tap sealer for oil sending unit threads.okay to replace oil pressure sending unit.you need safe raise support vechicle locate oil pressure sending unit next to the oil filter.disconnect oil pressure sending unit wire connector then use oil pressure sending unit 3/8 socket remove the sending unit.then take new oil pressure sending unit use teflon tape white plumbers tape or use thread sealer apply to the oil pressure sending unit threads then install new oil pressure sending unit and reconnect electrical connector to sending unit.then crank engine check for oil leak if all is good lower vechicle back to ground wait several minutes check engine oil level.you good to roll.

Need to check the oil pump pressure or if there is a lag in pressure. You need to check if the oil lamp lights up soon after starting and if so the pressrure can be low. Also check the quality of oil , change the oil if this was not done for a long time.

well let me see you have 4.6L engine you need 7.5 quarts of oil with new oil filter.to do the oil change you need large drain pan and oil filter wrench and a metric wrench to remove oil drain plug you need a funnel also.you need first start engine let it run for 5 minutes to warm up thin out the oil so it will flow better.once engine warm up.turn off the engine.open you hood.now safely raise support vechicle on jack stands make sure vechicle parked on solid level ground.place large drain pan under oil pan remove oil drain plug you need a 15m wrench remove drain plug let all old oil drain out until you see slow drip then reinstall oil drain plug dont over tighten drain bolt.then place drain pan under the oil filter then remove oil filter using oil filter wrench or large channel lock pliers.once you remove oil filter wipe oil filter seal surface with clean paper towel.take new oil filter add oil to new filter then install new oil filter hand tight take filter wrench turn oil filter one half more turn dont over tighten will damage oil filter seal.make sure oil pan drain plug is in place. then lower vechicle. remove oil filler cap on the valve cover add new oil to the engine using a funnel to keep from spilling oil all over the valve cover and exhaust manifold.add all 7.5 quarts to oil crank case wait until oil settle down in crank case check oil dip stick oil level should be at the full mark on oil dip stick.dont over fill crank case.once you finished oil level correct crank engine check for oil leaks at oil filter and oil drain plug. if engine running okay you see no oil warning lights you ready wheel and deal.

Could just be out of oil. Check the oil. Don't drive it! If it has plenty of oil the oil sending unit maybe faulty.. Best have a shop check engine oil pressure with a mechanical oil pressure gauge before driving it.. Engine will be ruined if you drive it with no oil pressure.

Oil light blinking usually indicated low oil pressure / viscosity. Probably either low on oil, incorrect oil weight, poor quality oil, or needs oil changed..........Mike

IF YOU BLOW OR DAMAGE THE ENGINE WARRANTY WILL NOT COVER THE ENGINE.FIRST OF ALL TO CHANGE ENGINE OIL YOU CRANK VECHICLE UP LET IDLE FEW MINUTES TO THIN OUT OIL THEN YOU TURN OFF ENGINE. YOU NEED TO RAISE VECHICLE USING THE FACTORY JACK.USE JACK STANDS. LOOK IN OWNERS FOR CAR JACK LIFTING LOCATIONS TO KEEP FROM DAMAGING ROCKER PANELS. AND PLACE A DRAIN PAN UNDER THE OIL PAN. YOU WILL NEED TO GO TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE OIL FILTER AND FILTER HOUSING O RINGS. ONCE YOU GET NEW OIL FILTER AND O - RINGS INSTALL THEM IN THE OIL FILTER HOUSING.LOCATED OIL FILLER CAP ON VALVE COVER UNDER THE HOOD.REMOVE OIL FILLER CAP.POUR OIL IN ENGINE USING A FUNNEL.ENGINE HOLDS ABOUT 8.5 TO 9.0 QUARTS OIL. BUT LOOK IN THE OWNERS MANUAL CHECK HOW MANY QUARTS ENGINE NEED.CHECK OIL DIP STICK OIL LEVEL SHOULD BE ON THE FULL MARK ON THE ENGINE OIL DIP STICK.TO BE ON THE SAFE SIDE BUY 10 QUARTS OF OIL FOR A EXTRA.DONT OVER FILL MAKE SURE YOUR OIL LEVEL CORRECT.OIL DRAIN PLUG AND OIL FILTER TIGHT BEFORE CRANKING THE ENGINE.LOOK IN THE OWNERS MANUAL FOR OIL DIP STICK AND LOCATION.

IF your car CLK 55 AMG it's better to get your car in to the dealer for service because it's need much knowledge to replace oil in this particular car, and must get the right oil for it, it's very particular oil need to fill in to the engine, must use Mobil 0W-40 fully synthetic oil and also need to drain oil from oil cooler and need to **** oil in side the filter housing, drain plug is under oil pan. my advice is get in to the dealer, it's up to you. is this information helped you?

PUT OIL DRAIN PLUG BACK IN OIL PAN. THEN SLIDE DRAIN PAN UNDER OIL FILTER REMOVE OIL FILTER LET OIL DRAIN UNTIL IT STOP DRIPPING.TAKE CLEAN PAPER TOWEL WIPE OIL FILTER SEAL SURFACE MAKE SURE NO DIRT ON SURFACE.TAKE NEW OIL FILTER POUR NEW OIL IN FILTER UNTIL ITS ALMOST AT TOP THEN.RUB CLEAN OIL ON NEW OIL FILTER SEAL.THEN PUT NEW OIL FILTER IN PLACE HAND TIGHTEN IT.POUR 4 QUARTS NEW OIL IN ENGINE CRANK CASE USING A FUNNEL.WHEN DONE.CRANK THE ENGINE CHECK FOR LEAKS AT OIL FILTER AND OIL DRAIN PLUG.IF ALL IS GOOD JOB WELL DONE.

For doing on oil charge need to waste oilbasin ,new oil filter ,new oil canister.After that you need to run genine whith oil cleaner atleast 10 minutes,after wentilaiting ,stop the engine ,open drain plug and drain derty oil in waste oil basin,close drain plug, replase old oil filter ,fill in new oil.
