I am Having the same problem with a 2005 wrangler rubicon unlimited and when I step on the brake some dash lights come on including one with a circle slash over a key on the top left of the dash! I called the dealer and they told me to bring it in because the Vallet computer lost its memory code, I think its strange since I do not have an alarm

low battery is probably a safe bet. Cars use electricity even when they are not running.

Loud buzzing sound

That sounds like the starter motor solenoid chattering. This can happen when the battery is nearly dead and has only enough charge to repeatedly pull down the solenoid. Get someone to operate the key while you listen to the starter via a long screwdriver shaft or similar.

I don't know what the acetone smell could be. Another source here has mention a refrigerant leak from the A/C, but it is a guess.

94 ford e350 van wont turn over when I turn the key it just makes a buzz sound good battery checked cables

Sounds like either the starter or starter solenoid. With the key in the "On" position try using one side (either positive or negative) of a pair of jumper cables. Locate the starter solenoid and clip one lead to the battery side of the solenoid, and just quickly touch the other lead to the other side of the solenoid. If the starter engages, replace the solenoid. If not, carefully check the positive cable from the battery to the solenoid for cracks, exposed wire, corrosion and good, tight connection. Good luck.

Loud click and buzz when trying to start car

your starter is shot. The click and the ting sound is your bendex not engaging properly. You can catch car on fire, or mess up your computer if you keep trying to start it. Be sure to disconnect the battery when you change it. Good luck

Dosn't turn over

First, verify the actual voltage at the battery with a voltmeter. Second, make sure terminal connections are clean and secure at both terminals and the other ends of the battery cables as well. Also find the source of the noise you hear...If it's coming from a relay, find out which one now, before it completely fails and is more dificult to locate. (do not change it till you verify all connections are good and actual voltage is good.
There are a few more tests you can do but do these first.

1988 Doge Ram will not turn over.

check your starter relay in the power distribution center. if you are not getting any crank. with a test light or dvom you can check the small signal wire on your starter solenoid when the key is in the crank position there should be power on this wire. it sounds like you are not getting signal to the starter from the ignition switch

Fails to start Ford Fiesta Freestyle 2002

This may be a bad connection of the battery cables to the battery. I would remove them and clean them both.
Question - If you jump start the car when this happens, does it start right away or still buzz? If yes, then I lean toward battery connections or battery. Also, when this happens, turn on the headligts and see if they remain bright when the key is turned to "start". If yes, then iI lean towrds a bad battery connection or an internal, intermittent short in the battery.
If you know how to jumper the starter under the hood by a jumper wire from the battery to the small wire to the starter solenoid, that would bypass the ignition switch "start" circuit. If it starts then, I would replace the ignition switch. Good luck. please report progress.
