On the 99 the front seats are identical. assuming there was little change in 2000 you unbolt both seats and move the passenger seat over to the driver side. while it is out, you set the sliders manually to be in the middle position and the passenger seat will be stuck there. If you can get light up inside there you will see a cable connector has released at one end meaning it will not release the dog to permit sliding so you may have to pull it manually with a vise grip in order to move the seat forward on the sliders to get at the bolt heads in the rear. unplug the battery before you unplug the seats.

How to remove driver seat on SC 430 Lexus

Most car seats are held in with four bolts. Two front, two rear. One at each end of the slider rails the seat moves forward and back on. You might need to slide the seat all the way forward for the rear ones and all the way back for the front ones. The bolts might be tucked under carpet or plastic trims. There will also be wires to disconnect. Once done the seat should just lift out.

Who do I remove rear seat for a BMW 760li?

Most rear seats need to be unlatched from the very bottom on each side. Try sliding the driver and passenger seats fully forward. With your back against the front seat press forward toward the trunk on the bottom of the rear seat on one corner at a time near the floor and lift up. This should release the latch. To replace the seat simply slide the seat back into place with the front slightly raised upward and push the seat in toward the trunk then push down til you hear the latch catch.

Drivers seat 2000 outback

So here is a diagram of the seat circuitry for your car. Since every other function works except the forward/backward slide function, that leaves basically the forward/backward slide motor, the seat switch, and/or the wiring. If you can verify that the wiring under the seat is in good condition without obstructions, chaffed wires, and/or wires pulled too tight, then it's safe to say it's down to just the motor and/or the switch. Sometimes if the passengers front seat has the same switch, you can plug it in to the drivers' side connector and see what works and what doesn't. If the seat works fine with the other switch, then that's all it needs, if not then it will need a motor. If the other seat doesn't have a switch then you can find them at wrecking yards, or just supply power and ground to the motor in question to see if it works. If it does, then you know you kneed a switch and if not then a motor.
I hope this info helps!~subyguru~

Automatic driver seat broken, how to fix/cost

The back and foward movement uses the same motor. So if it moves one way but not the other it's most likely the switch. Try to blow it out or clean it out. If pop or somthing spilled on it you will prob. need to pull switch out and take it apart to clean contacks inside.
