My 1995 Tacoma with a 3.4 v6 has been running very rough and has no power. I have replaced plugs, plug wires, O2 sensors, MAF sensor, and changed the fuel. I get a misfire code on cylinders 2,4,6. I pulled off the plenum and the intakes to cylinders 2,4,and 6 are clean. The intakes to 1,3, and 5 are very dirty. What would cause one bank to differ so much from the other?

SOURCE: maf?/ missfiring

have the map sensor checked to see if it is within range you say you have codes maf make sure all clamped duct work is tight and not loose clamps .iac motor clean bore if the pintle gets stuck will cause rough idle hesitation even no start conditions scan tools only test the idle air control valve motor not the bore that extends to block varnish gets built up on the pintle and in the bore wich binds the in and out operation

I know this post is old, but right on the engine theres a sticker that says use multi-ground plugs only. I read a similar problem like yours and it seemed to turn out that the spark was arcing to ground over the ceramic on the plug. So maybe it could have something to do with the single ground plugs.

Possible fuel delivery problem, fuel pump, fuel line, clogged fuel filter, leaking injectors or injector O-rings, faulty pressure regulator etc. Check your fuel pressure.

I change both o2 sensor but the code is still coming on the wires ok what can be the problem

Usually an O2 sensor code is a result of another problem. Your problem is coming from the motor & the sensors are just reading it. Bad wires, coils, plus, vacuum leaks even low coolant or running hot will give you O2 sensor codes. Sounds likes you should start on wires themselves. Is it running rough? Missing? Check the plug wires & coils first. Disconnect the batt to clear the codes & take it from there. Good Luck

Diagnosed with ignition coil problem, replaced coil, spark plugs & wires, inspected pcm, vehicle running rough in gear, acceleration is rough, smooths out when it gets going. oil on one spark plug....

2006 3.9 has to be a T-Bird or LS

There are no spark plug wires

It has Coil-On-Plug individual coils

Plugs don't fail --they get changed at 60,000 miles
give or take, say every 3 years

The front (2) O2 Sensors get repalced at 100,000
miles. The ones closest to the engine

Clean MAF Sensor at least once a year

I have no idea how you inspect a pcm,if your
at home & have no scanner or PC Based Software

Egr Valves fail early on those & other fords

You could test, not look at,actually put an oscilloscope
on the TPS Sensor

Any oil on a spark plug requires a new valve cover gasket

If a coil was replaced based on a code alone, you may have
replaced a good one,not what needed to be replaced if any

I'm getting codes with obd II read for o2 sensor 1 bank 1 and sensor 1 bank 2 i have a rough running 2004 ford escape 3.0 V6

If the O2 Sensors are original, you could just change the front 2

The ones closest to the engine.

Any other issue you need to actually diagnose, as codes
are for just that reason

They don't ever tell you to replace anything

Running rough is more the O2 Sensors

Plugs
MAF Dirty
Vacuum Leaks
Ignition Coils going bad

How do i fix my 2001 cadillac catera idle problem. ive tried fuel injector cleaner, changed the spark plugs, and o2 sensors, but it still idles rough and im throwing these codes. bad o2 sensor bank 1...

The problems you are describing indicate to me that you likely need to replace the coil pack that runs from the spark plugs ,and the plug wires end up at it.It also may be the spark plug wires, get a water bottle and spray the wires after dark and if you get a light show from them then replace them,if not, replace the coil pack.

2001 Tacoma running rich but the scanner is reading a lean code

No, disconnecting the sensor and seeing no change would be a indication the maf was bad. Your computer takes information from your mass air flow sensor (maf), o2 sensor, cam position, and knock sensor to regulate the correct mixture. I would suspect a bad o2 sensor upstream. Try taking off the o2 sensor and seeing if there is black carbon on the base of the o2 sensor. If it has black carbon on the base it could be a bad o2 sensor. This problem could also be easily solved by hooking up a mechanics diagnostic computer to pin point the problem. Sometimes, you can clean the mass air flow with a special cleaner to help it generate a more accurate reading.

Rough idle after initial startup.

Really the sky is the limit here. See when you first start vehicle the computer is in open loop which means it is not monitoring the O2 sensors and fuel control is set to a calibrated setting. After the Heaters heat up the O2 sensors it then goes into closed loop and starts monitoring the O2 sensors to control air/fuel. So anything in the fuel and air mix could be causing your problem like false air volume reporting from the MAF sensor,a vacuum leak, unmeasured air getting into the engine behind the MAF sensor from a leaking hose,,a faulty pcv system, lazy O2 sensors, etc.
I would first recommend cleaning the MAF sensor and resetting the keep alive memory.Get a T20 torx bit and remove the MAF and get some electrical cleaner and spray the MAF bulbs clean then let it air dry or blow it dry with light shop air. Then disconnect battery for about 30 minutes to reset the strategies and see if this cures your problem. It will take probably 50 miles of driving for the strategies to reset.
