Fill to top with fluid ,then assisant pumps clutch till it moves a bit and you shout hold down then slacken bleed nipple for a sec then repeat and after four or five time the pressure will build up ,if you cannot get any pressure to start with use a big screwdriver and lever the operating arm in and slcaken bleed nipple then back to pumping it again to get a bit of pressure into it ,another way is to leave a big brick on the pedal overnight to allow the air to rise

Where is bleed screw on master slave cylinder

I guess if you could decide which you are talking about, the master or the slave, it could be answered. masters do not have bleed screws, slaves do. slave cylinders at the back wheels have bleeders which are on the inside of the backing plate, slave cylinder in the front caliper has a bleeder which sticks out the top of the caliper. clutch slave is a horse of a different color in a saturn. may have to buy a whole new master/line/slave assembly.

How to bleed the clutch on a saturn 97

one way to bleed it is by pulling the piston like slave cylinder with the rod out of the transmission and by pushing the rod into the slave cylinder several times, make sure you have plenty of dot3 brake fluid in the clutch master slave before you do this. by pushing the rod into the slave cylinder it acts like doing a brake job it bleeds the air out into the clutch master slave cylinder and sucks in the break fluid getting rid of all air in the system. thats the only way to bleed those systems seeing as they are sealed systems

How to adjust clutch for 1998 saturn sc2

HYDRAULIC SYSTEM BLEEDING The clutch hydraulic assembly has been filled with fluid and bled of air at the factory. Do not attempt to bleed the hydraulic system. While the unit does not require periodic checking, it must be serviced, when necessary, as a complete assembly. The system is full when the reservoir is half full. Only DOT 3 brake fluid should be added to the system. If the fluid level drops, inspect the system, including the slave cylinder, for leakage. A slight wetting of the slave cylinder surface is normal. Fill the clutch master cylinder reservoir with brake fluid. Be careful not to spill brake fluid on the painted surface of the vehicle.

I cant get pressure to my clutch pedal in my 1995 saturn sc2. i changed out the slave cylinder and the clutch. I tried bleeding the slave cylinder, and still no pressure, why?

You cannot bleed these clutch hydraulics. They are meant to be a pre-bled sealed unit that you buy. You should never replace just the slave or the master. Buy them both and replace them as one unit which is already bled from the factory. Otherwise you will experience what you are describing.

Make sure you install the slave cylinder (into the transmission hole) first and then the master cylinder (pedal side) next and do not hook up the pedal until everything is installed.

If you take the slave out with the pedal attached it will extend the rod and ruin the hydraulics rendering them useless.

Bleeding my saturn vue clutch after slave install and having problem with it

first fill the clutch reservoir with brake fluid.get some body to help you.besure dont let clutch reservoir fluid get low during this procedure.get a clear vinyl tube.connect it to bleeder plug on slave cylinder.put the other end of vinyl tube in a container filled with half clean brake fluid.now get helper to open bleed screw on slave cylinder just a hair.now you pump clutch pedal 10 to 15 times.with out bringing pedal the full way up.do this until you see no air bubbles in vinyl tube.when all air is out.before tighten bleed screw make sure you keep slight pressure on clutch pedal to keep air from going back in line.when job complete clutch pedal fill firm check slave cylinder brake fluid level. check for leaks.you all set to go.
