1992 chev lumina 3.1 eng. cuts off intermittently. sometimes when driving down the highway and others when idling around a carry-out resturant. Put in neutral and it starts back up. I have replaced the battery, starter, egr valve ?(spell) small idle motor and I believe that is all...any sugestions? Cuts off just like turning the key off! Please advise.

DO you have any engine codes still remaining? IF car restarts right away its gonna be tricky finding out what is dropping out. Engine codes are the best clue to start the hunt for problem. From experience however, I have had a few of these come in for same symptom. There are two wires that run from Ignition module/coil pack to the crank sensor, insulation falls off and they melt to each other or to hot engine, intermittent short disruption of signal, hence car stalls whenever wherever and restarts right away.

The idel on my 1992 chevrolet lumina 3.1 euro goes high then drops down low in park or in gear what is problem

Could becaused by a few different thing's . Map sensor , idle air control valve , a vacuum leak . Having the vehicle's scan data viewed would probably pin point the problem . Do you know what scan data is ? Is what a professional tech uses to find problems .

Overheated , now a leak, dead battery, intake gasket, !!!

Could be the intake manifold gasket leak is upsetting the manifold vacumn which in turn will have an effect on the idling adjustments. The extra drag of the Auto Trans wnen engaged may cause the engine to 'cut-out'. Fix the manifold gasket first, re-adjust the idle, then see what you find.

1992 Chev Lumina

I would have the car checked on the computor.Even if the engine light is off it will store the codes. When you get the codes it should point you in the right direction.I would say it's posibly the throttle position sensor.
