2000 Dodge Durango 5.2 After driving and letting set for approx. 1 hour, the car won't start for 15 or so minutes after the first try. It is turning over, but not firing. The spark plugs have been changed along with the distributor cap, coil and rotor button. It will eventually start if you just keep trying but the not starting to begin with happens at random times. It may go several times and crank just fine and then it just won't start. Keeping the tank filled to at least half a tank. Can hear the fuel pump priming. It starts fine in the mornings after it has been sitting all night.

SOURCE: Dodge, 92, V-8, 318, electrical shut-off, engine

Check that your have primary 12 v to the coil when it won't start. Can there be a loose connection?Coil is inexpensive to replace,Does distributor have a capacitator? Small cylinder by points.Change it too.I would check all grounds and connections clean and tighten.Good Luck.

Testimonial: "I think the ground is likely, not the coil, since there are no codes. Why the capacitor? I've already changed the crank sensor as well. Thanks "

SOURCE: 97 dodge ram no spark

then i would replace whats called the hall effect sensor its that black plastic plate you see when you take dist cap off. just pull rotor and lift up the sensor.dist cap is what holds it on.also under the sensor will be a stamped sheet metal piece that looks like the top of a castle wall. make sure its not loose on the shaft.if it is then new dist will be needed

I have a 2000 dodge Durango when it gets hot I have to wait about 10 to 15 minutes before it starts can't find the problem

Start with an error code if any read at your favorite auto parts store. How hot does it get? Possible so hot (cooling system problems) that the block sensor feeding the ECU is telling it there's a problem. A kind of safety system. Double check all cooling system components. Is the Water pump ok, or belt slipping? Battery and electrical system ok?

Car stalling out and bot starting after being driven for awhile.

mcdevito75 Here, It"s possible the ignition Module is going bad, no way to test and if so, one day the car will not start at all.----------It can also be a vapor loc, wher the fuel is evaporating before it reaches the cylinders. Best Bet, have your local shop check both these items.

.1 liter Chevy engine runs 15 to 30 minutes then will shut off.

Sounds like the coil. A bad coil will lose internal connection when it gets hot.
