Question about 1998 Ford Expedition
I noticed that there was some oil dripping from the bottom of my suv and upon further investigation found that one of the power steering lines were leaking fluid. i want to know it you have a diagram showing the lines that are connected to the power steering box and how to replace it.
Just wanted to say that there is a plastic bracket holding the steering hose to the frame as it goes to the steering fluid cooler at the drivers' front of grille. They usually leak as moisture and salt are held against metal line held in this bracket.

have you have the modulator or solenoid checked? have you checked the fluid on the transmission to see if it has a burnt smell to it? if it does you may have to replace the transmission. its hard to tell for sure from here but id try to get it to a shop and have it diagnosed asap

The gear box is a common problem on this model. That would be the place I would start. A cheap, temporary fix is to go to your local parts store and ask for Lucas Power Steering Stop-Leak. It will buy you some time.

rack and-or pinion... Good thing the 98 is a very good and popular windstar, its not as bad as it sounds.
