Low coolant, if there is an air pocket in the engine it will make it to the heater core. Once there , the air coming out is cold/cool. Once the coolant fills the heater core, it gets hot. If the coolant is fine hot or cold, then have the HVAC system scanned.
It has air in the line. let ir idle with the radiator cap off for a little while and the air will work its way out. You may have bigger issues, but I do not think you need to clean heater core because you get heat sometimes. Do you see a lot of bubbles when you take the radiator cap off when running, head gasket if so.. You can take the cap loose while the engine is running, but not after you stop it, it will be to hot. Good luck
I believe that your Seville has dual climate controls. So it sounds like a "Blend Door Actuator" problem. It's stuck and so it's not adjusting the mix of warm or cold air; that's how temperatures are controlled in your A/C heat system. Fault code(s) stored in the HVAC control module should be available to assist with diagnoses. AutoZone will perform a free diagnostic scan.
HI its almost certainly a thermostat problem, Change the stat and refill slowly with the engine running to eliminate air locks in the system. Hope this helps
working on 4 and 5 speed that the resistor that broken cold air you got to move the selector to see the motor that move the trap hot and cold sometime when the motor was not move to the hot side for a long time its jam the motor on the passager side under dash put to hot and gently tap the motor tanks pierre
This sounds like the mode selector is stuck on heat. Under the dash is the location of the hvac plenum and you need to check the cables and levers that are on it to see if they move when heat and cold are changed as well as the lever for where the air is directed.
