The sway bars are devices that preven the car body from rolling or tilting from side to side as you drive through corners. They are on most cars at the front and usually the rear suspension. They have bushings in the middle that can wear out, but more commonly "link ends" on their outboard ends that connect to the control arms, that wear and get noisy. You can buy kits to replace the bushings and link ends that will fix this noise.
A sway bar is a suspension piece that keeps the left and right side of vehicle connected to help with turns. They are held together through sway bar links at each end, which are fairly common to break or rattle over bumps.
