With a monitor scan for the knock sensor defect or no signal from PCM should have around 5volts.
Check Ignition key on engine off. With a piece of metal hit near the knock sensor and the voltage have to change normally.
Also, the EGR valve not working or clog.
For the hot engine Radiator cap defect or Electrical fan not working when hot. The radiator flush can be done if restrictions.
hope it helps.

Sounds like a CPU problem. your radiator may need a good flushing a s well. i would also check the heater core for any unusual problems like seal break or leakage.

I have a 2000 Bonneville - I had a problem with the car stalling out - then it did not want to start back up. (When it did it would idle up and down and then die) I changed out the mass air flow sensor - now I have not had a problem. Good luck with it.
