.040 to .044" would be normal. The gap should listed on the emission sticker under the hood. Make sure you use the O.E. AC/Delco plugs. This engine will run on those the best!

What is the gap for a 2004 GMC envoy 4.2 liters

Natalie, our 4.2 engine only likes 1 sparkplug. AC Delco 41-103. This Iridium plug comes pre-gapped, to near the specs Mike posted. Don't try and gap these particular plugs yourself, easy to ruin them.

I cant find the spark plugs on my 2004 gmc envoy

Assuming you are talking about the 6 cylinder engine, the spark plugs are under a cover on top of the engine. There is a coil pack on top of each spark plug, the plugs are recessed in the valve cover.

Finding spark plugs and changing them on a 2002 gmc envoy sle

On he very top of your engine, there will be six coil pack, they all look the same, from front to rear of engine, remove 10mm bolt, disconnect elec. harness, pull coil pack out, spark plug will be in there, do one at a time, this is the spark plug gap .044"

What is the spark plug gap for the envoy??

they come pre gapped with collars to prevent the electrodes from getting bent .platinum and iridium plugs will have the surface damaged if you were to adjust them with a feeler gauge, like old plugs had to be gapped. ac or ngk plugs come pre gapped in the box.
