Look for that on the air filter housing, where GM usually puts it. 2 wire connector to it, measuring intake air temp., it has to be in the air stream going into the engine.
Try changing fluid and filter. If this does not correct it, then test the vacuum pressure in the vacuum controlled actuator and the circuit on the tranny. If it turns out ok, then tranny servo or other internal part may be faulty
Take out your gages under the dash and send them out to get fixed they are speed operated. What most likely happend is the dial in back the odometer is stripped.

But first change fuel filter if it has one outside the fuel tank, if it has it in the tank just replace the pump at the same time. Also next time when it stalls bang the bottom of the tank with your hand and try starting.
