TCS = Traction Control System
The TCS light is on because the check engine
light is on this is common repair the check engine light failure abd the
tcs will go back to normal.
You need to check the code to see if it is a trans code and then if it falls under the bulletin limits Honda will replace the trans under warranty. Even if you are out of warranty Honda will sometimes do a partial warranty. Here's a copy of the Bulletin.
There are several things that will turn the check engine light and tcs light on .if you get the code I can tell you exactly what the problem is . on your year i see transmission problems as well as egr problems. if you go to any large auto parts store they will check the code for free or a very small fee.
Hope helps (remember to rate this answer).
TCS means Traction Control System. It's probably telling you that you have a bad TCS sensor on one of the wheels. It's kinda similar to Anti-lock Brake System or ABS. There are generally four sensors, one at each wheel, that monitors the traction of the tires to the road surface and compensates each wheel when needed. This is probably a job for your mechanic. However, it shouldn't affect the drivability of your vehicle. Cars ran fine for years before TCS. I hope this helps.

Honda odyssey 2004 can I get trade with another car
SOURCE: Engine light came on
It is typical of the Odyssey to get carbon build up in the intake.I would think its doubtful it involves the transmission if u have not noticed anything. The brakes can cause the TCS light to come on, as well as many other things. try checking your slave cylinders on your brakes as this could cause the TCS light to come up.

The following is from the Honda Odyssey (1999-2004) Service Manual page 19-81:
"When the Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL or check engine light) and the Traction Control System (TCS) light are both on at the same time, you should troubleshoot the Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI) system first."
"The TCS indicator will come on if one or more of the following components are faulty:
heated oxygen sensor, manifold absolute pressure sensor, crankshaft position sensor, engine coolant temp. sensor, throttle position sensor, top dead center sensor 1 or 2, intake air temp. sensor, exhaust gas recirculation, barometric pressure sensor, idle air control valve, VTEC pressure switch, knock sensor, fuel supply system, automatic transaxle, and misfire detection system of the PGM-FI system."
Most major auto parts stores have a code reader that will read out your diagnostic trouble codes or DTC's that are stored in the car's computer when the MIL comes on. They will do it for free. With these codes, you can narrow down what is wrong. This is good information to have if you are dealing with a mechanic or dealership. The terminal to hook up the code reader is under the driver's side dash about in line with your right shin.

I had the same code/symptoms a few weeks ago. Dealer did a nice job checking through all the details. Replaced the egr too, but no improvement. Finally found one cylinder not firing correctly (not the same pressure as the other cylinders.) Dealer did a value clean/adjustment, for about $250, and the problem has been gone for about a month now. We are also getting about 15% better mileage.
Hope this helps.
