The problem is that your EGR valve needs replaced. What these do is they allow a precise quantity of exhaust back into the intake manifold; Provides a great help for an efficient combustion process and improved engine performance, when thes go bad your perfomance drops off and it does not run as clean.
The EGR valve, or Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve, is a vacuum-controlled valve which allows exhaust back into the intake manifold in controlled amounts. The EGR valve can clog and get contaminated over time by carbon buildup, at which point it will require replacement. A malfunctioning valve can cause the engine exhaust pressure to drop and send engine warnings to the computer. It can also cause engine back pressure to drop, reducing gas mileage and engine
This is for a dodge ram, as I have no idea what car you have but this is a general tip.

  • Locate the EGR valve in the engine bay. The year and make of the Dodge vehicle determine where the valve is located. This is on the front of the engine block, next to the timing belt in model-year 2005 and newer trucks. In older vehicles you will typically find the valve behind the engine, near the firewall.

  • Unclip the exhaust tube from the side of the valve. You can do this by hand. Shift the tube from side to side until it slides off.Use a flat-head screwdriver to remove the EGR valve from the exhaust tube. There is a screw on each side of the tube.

Disconnect the harness from the EGR valve. Use your hand to pull up on the tab and slide the harness from the valve.

Use a flat-head screwdriver to remove the two screws that secure the EGR valve to the cylinder head. Remove the EGR valve and clean the surface of the cylinder.

Attach the new EGR valve to the cylinder head and tighten it down with the same screws that were previously installed.

Reattach the harness and reattach the exhaust tube to the valve. Tighten the two flat-head screws that hold the tube to the valve.

Reattach the hose to the valve and use your hand to attach the clip to the hose.

Shut off lights on dash ABS and the T/C someone told me EGR value will do it

If the check engine light was on, the problem could be the EGR valve.
But if you are only dealing with the Traction control and ABS lights, chances are there is a problem with the ABS system.
You would need to get the system scanned for trouble codes to proceed with testing.

pull you egr valve off and get some brake parts cleaner or carb or throttle body cleaner and clean your valvue also start the car with the valvue off and give it a little gas so you can blow all the stuff out of it then put it back on and erase the codes then drive and see if the check engine light comes back on

Newly installed EGR Valve stuck open

A code P0411 means that there is insufficient flow in your secondary air injection system, this is totally separate from the egr (exhaust gas recirculation) system. Has the vehicle been re-scanned? You should also know that if an egr valve is stuck open, the vehicle would be almost un-driveable, as it would create a huge vacuum leak.
If the same code is coming up, I would take a very close look at the hoses going to and from the injection pump. Check for any kinks or damage.

    • Faulty EGR solenoid
    • Faulty EGR solenoid wiring/harness
    • Vacuum lines damaged/disconnected to the EGR valve solenoid or to the EGR valve

99 dodge stratus dies while driving

Were the plugs covered in oil? With the plugs that go through the valve cover you might need new seals. Did you replace the plug wires? You need to scan it for codes. It's most likely a missfire, but it could be a bad speed sensor (also called, VSS vehicle speed sensor, cam position sensor,or crank position sensor).

01 Ford Expedition. Check Engine light and failed Smog check.

whoever installed the egr valve, if it wasnt you, just cleared the engine codes, thus giving you this problem once again. Get it scanned at autozone, and go from there.
