Check the wires that run along the drivers kick pannel and the wires that run through to the inside of the door. One is probably shorted to ground causing it to unlock
there is a switch above the brake pedal that turns the brake lights on when u depress the pedal, use a volt meter set to DC volts and check for voltage to the switch and out of it when the brake pedal is depressed, see p[icture of switch below
I have noticed that a lot of similarities between the 98-02 Dodge Ram line so this may or may not help. I have a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 Quadcab and have taken pictures of the diagrams, you can check them out and see if they are the same...please post back and let me know so I can put that on the site anyways here is the link
