Code 41 could be a few things.
Most likely a front crash sensor or the "clock spring" under the steering wheel which transmits power to the steering wheel and drivers air bag while still allowing steering wheel rotation.
Simply put the SRS light tells you that the sensor cant connect to the trigger of your airbag namely the one locate in the steering wheel. This is beacause of a device known as a clock spring located in the steering. Its moves like a clock and allows the sensor and bag to get connection but sometimes the coil wires get broken.
To fix this take it to a SHOP. reasons for that. 1.) A DEPLOYED AIR BAG WILL KILL YOU 2.) WITHOUT THE PROPER KNOWLEDGE YOU WILL DEPLOY THE AIR BAG 3.) EQUIPMENT IS EXPENSIVE
the fix involves. (REMOVE BATTERY) 1.) remove the steering wheel using the lock bolt and key 2.) unblot and remove then unlock the clock spring 3.) replace, 4.) recalibrate and reset spring 5.) reset error codes 6.) reassemble 7.) reset error codes.
hi you will need dexron 2 (II) for the power steering, modular? if you mean the seat belt pre-tensioner this is found under the seat, and air bag..the control module for the air bag is below the steering wheel under the dashboard....hope i got these right, if not can you elaborate on the modular???? as this means round in the uk, eg modular type frame work=tubed frame..hope this helps if not just get back to me
what do you mean repair the airbags is there a hole in one? or you mean the air bag light is on,if this is what you mean the fix is simple, you have to remove your steering wheel and replace the clock spring under your steering wheel, this part has all the wires for the airbags and horn and cruise control systems.
If the air bag light is flashing- that means there is problem with your SRS air bag system. It stored a code in the computer and wont turn off untill the problem is fixed or cleared manualy with a scan tool- note if you choose to clear the code and turn off the light with a scan tool- if the problem with the system is still there the computer in your car will notice it and store another code and the light will come right back on. also Note that if the air bag light or SRS light is on while driving that system is shut down and your air bags WILL NOT go off if you get into an accident. (the same rules apply if your ABS- anti lock brake light is on- the ABS system will not work) the most common problem with the Altimas and air bag codes are the clock spring assembly located behind your steering wheel- (not the air bag itself on the steering wheel) but there is a round thing that turns with a wire connected to it. you have to remove the steering wheel to service. Best bet - go somewhere that has a scan tool and read what code the computer stored. It will tell you what part of the system has the problem.
well the check guages and airbag lights are most likely not related, the airbag is most likely the clockspring contact under the steering wheel is defective, check guages means you have a gauge that is reading a problem like low oil pressure or overheating, this can be the body control module causing this as well..
