Question about 2000 Ford Focus
I have a 2000 Ford Focus, when accelerating between 50 and 70 mph I get a lot of vibration from the front end but not much through the steering whell but you can feel it through the pedals mostly. I don't think it is balancing or shocks as it seems to go away post 70mp???
I have a ford focus 2008 and have the same problem the vibration/jumpy feeling is ALWAYS there its on the steering wheel, the floor , seat and the gas pedal.
what i have done
bough 2 sets of new tires (winter and summer)
replace an axle bearing
brought it the speedy auto service:
they checked the mounts, heat shield etc..EVERYTHING that could make my car shake and/or vibrate and everything is perfectly fine "like new" like the mechanic said so .. i really want to figure out what the problem is its driving me insane i wish i could afford another car but unfortunately i cant i had my focus for a year this month and the vibration seems to get worst worst as the months go by ..

Had exactly same problem except on overrun at any speed the vibration stopped. It was the driver side drive shaft. the only evidence was about 1mm of side movement in the joint. No other tale tale signs eg knocking on turning. If you change it yourself I paid £97 and changed it in an hour.

Could be alot of things from tyres to warped break disks to alignment to balancing. If you half press the breakes when you are going 70 and you can feel major vibes thru the stearing wheel, its disks. The rest is easy - take it to alighnment center, they dfo tires and balancing too. Make sure wheels are properly inflated too

Hi.. If you allready bance your tires and did not fix the problem you should check the tie rod ends for wear and if they move to much you should replce them and have it alingned by a recognized shop ,( hope this will help....)

All are possible here :front stabilizer links if weak will change spindle and strut angle and wheel alignment settings and push the drive drive axles out and in causing cv joint wear / transmission mount looks good but broken causing transmission to slam metal to metal causing vibration through whole vehicle from lack of hard rubber damping also pushing on axles /conto arm bushings can be cracked allowing the arms to make comtact with the bushing casing and bolts /inner and outer tie rods will change wheel settings and cause wobbling as will any of the above cause wobble at road speeds because it is changing the alignment settings while driving /also a broken steel belt and a slightly bent rim this site is problematic for posting answers if you need more info try posting in cents and I will get back to you there's more info to tell good luck stephen

It sounds like one or both of your CV joints in the drive shaft.
Take it to a specialised CV shaft repairer. It should only take a few minutes to check on a hoist and they would not normally charge for the check.

Your front end needs to be alinged. If you will look at your front tires you will see that one side is worn on the inside more than the other. If by chance that's not it. Then it will be a balljoint lose
