What type of coolant does it use - 1999 Chrysler 300M

Chrysler recommends using HOAT (Hybrid Organic Acid Technology) formula coolant in PT Cruiser. If you want to do a partial refill and don't know which coolant has been used in your car, you need to do a complete flushing and HOAT replacement because HOAT coolants can't be mixed with other types of fluid.

Don't assume that HOAT is in the car now as a previous owner may have flushed it and replaced it with another coolant type.

Different coolant types, whatever they are, must never be mixed and you need to get all the old coolant out before adding the new fluid if the new is a different type.

Buy the genuine Mopar coolant for the PT which is available in the concentrate or in the premixed form.

Chrysler makes their own special brand but if you check with a parts store, they can tell you what's safe to use. I top off my 2007 Town and ccountry with Prestone - the type that mixes with any coolant. Make sure you put 1/2 water and 1/2 coolant in when you refill.

You can use any coolant that is labeled Long or Extended life coolant, these are so called universal coolants that mix with all types of coolant. Prestone, Peak and others are really good coolants that fit the bill for your Kia's coolant needs. buy the concentrated and mix it 50/50 with tap or drinking water in the gallon jug. The remixed coolant is a rip off price wise.

Your Pontiac original specification calls for Dexcool coolant.
This is an orange colored fluid.
If the green regular type has been added the system should be flushed and refilled with Dexcool.

Coolant type is for all of the world BMW cars used freon-free

R134a for fill

50/50 antifreeze and water. pontiac or GM recommends the use of Dex cool antifreeze but it really doesnt matter. You have to check the color of the coolant orange you need to use extended life, if its green just use regular 50/50

You can use the predeluted 50/50 Preston brand at any auto parts store. It has a green cap. Once you go to the store you can also give them your car's year and brand and they will tell you the exact brand. Good luck

If you flush the system you can use any high quality coolant.

coolant is a jaguar special but power steering is standard atf (transmission fluid)

Just make sure that the coolant is mixed 50/50. Don't worry about the color. You can buy coolant pre-mixed, which says you the trouble of mixing it yourself. Hope this helped.
