The easiest way that I have found to remove the CV axle is to remove the caliper so you don't have to fight for more room.Take the center axle nut off.Disconnect the tie rod end and lower ball joint. Some people do it without popping the lower control arm but it makes life harder. At this point pull the rotor and strut straight back towards you and the shaft should slide out off the rotor assembly. To get it out of the trans pry it away from the trans until the ring lock releases.be sure that you have a drain pan because you might loose a little bit of fluid when you pull it out of the trans.Hope this makes it a little easier.

No you don't need to remove the tranny to remove the drive axle. All you need to do is first remove the wheel, then remove the brake assembly, then remove the rotor , then remove the axle nut, then remove the lower ball joint then remove the drive axle. do the steps in reverse to assemble.

How do you remove the front drive shaft

Remove the axle nut from the spindle, remve the spindle from the strut to allow room to remove the axle from the spindle, tap the axle out of the spindle. Once loose put a pry bar between the transmission and the axle and pry the axle out of the transmission. Might be a little hard to pry out but it will pop right out. Then to put the new one it just put it in, line it up and tap it in, be sure to torque your axle nut to the correct specifications when tightening or you will have a bad wheel bearing in no time.

Locate transmission filter on 2002 ford escape

The '02 Ford Escape doesn't have a transmission (automatic or manual transaxle) fluid filter or even a fluid pan to house one. The transmission is mounted between the drive axle and intermediate axle, directly below the yellow transmission fluid dipstick. No need to mess with it. Change your trans. fluid at the regular specified mileage. If the fluid on the dipstick is clear, it's good. If reddish or rusty or dark, change asap.

Clutch replacement

Clutch replacement will requre the removal of the transmission. If it is a rear wheel drive the trans can be removed fairly easily. Front wheel drive autos have the engine and transmission mounted in a "transerve" (across) fashion and require more time for removal. rear wheel drive requires the removal of the driveshaft (not difficult) and the front wheel drive requires the removal of the drive axles( can be difficlt). If your not mechanicly inclined and have a fair assortment of tools and equipment, this job is best left to a quailified person. You need Jack stands, floor jack, transmission adaptor, and if it's a front wheel drive, you will need an inpact gun to loosen the axle nuts on the drive axles.

I have a 2004 dodge ram 2500 4x4 . the front drive shaft has a ball kit in it . how do i replace this and how does it work?

If it is the tipical cvshaft you must replace the whole shaft if you have the old style straight axle you have to take the four wheel assembly apart remove the rotor assembly this means that in some Dodges you have to have the bearing unpressed and a new bearing installed when you change the universal joint in the wheel shaft good luck these are tuff to do

Is a 2002 isuzu rodeo front wheel drive ? And do you have to remove the axle to replace a transmission

There are no front wheel drive rodeos but there are 4 wheel drive and all wheel drive. If it is not 4 or all wheel drive then there is no front shafts. You will need to remove the rear drive shaft though to remove the transmission. Hope this helps. Good luck.

07 ford f150 bent axel

the easyiest way is to use a slide hammer but a crow bar will do the trick as well.but you first must remove it from the spindle.step 1 remove the axle nut in the spindle.step2 remove the upper strut rod retaining bolts to allow you to pivot the spindle{this may also require you to remove the tie rods and swaybar end links.Step 3 pry between the axle and transmission.there will be a lot of force because there is a retaing ring inside the transmission.istalation is reverse of removal.any more info needed please feel free to email me at [email protected] good luck
