Need instructions to remove the front rotor on F250 Four wheel drive truck - 2001 year

1. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
2. Remove the wheel and tire assembly.
3. Remove the three screws retaining the cap and remove the cap from the hub.
4. Remove the lockring seated in the groove of the brake rotor assembly.
5. Remove the hub body assembly from the brake rotor assembly. To install:

(35-53 Lb-In) Removal

1. Separate cap assembly from hub body by removing the three Torx® head capscrews.
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   

1. Remove the lock ring seated in the groove of the front disc brake hub and rotor (1102).
   
   
   
   
   

1. Remove the hub body assembly from the front disc brake hub and rotor. If the body is difficult to remove, install two capscrews and pull the body assembly out of the front disc brake hub and rotor.
   
   
   
   
   

Installation

1. NOTE: Do not pack the hublock body assembly or cap with grease. Excessive grease can cause excessive dialing effort and hub failure.
   
   Follow removal procedure in reverse order.
   

1. Tighten three Torx® head capscrews to 4-6 Nm (35-53 lb-in).
   

Remove the wheel. Remove the two bolts at the caliper. Take a C clamp prefferbly a 6 inch type and compress the brake pads as far as they will go into the caliper.

Now remove the two bolts to the calipers saddle that holds it in place
I think a 17 mm wrench will do
Now you can remove the rotor by removing the bearing cap and the rest is easy to figure out by punching out the bearing races as well as the seal
Clean thoroughly before installing the new parts

remove brake caliper, rotor, axle nut and four bolts on the back side of the knuckle

I hate to say it but it sounds like you have a severe problem in the rear end. Here are a couple of things i would do. First pull off your tires and wheels. Of course you need to put the truck on jack stands and block the wheels for safety! Disconnect your rear drive line so you know nothing from front diff or trans could be affecting it. Next spin the brake rotors by hand and inspect them for severe damage. Go forwards and backwards. Also listen in your rear end for grinding or clunking noises and also excessive play front foward to reverse. And last drain your oil and put your finger up inside the housing as far as you can and feel for large pieces that should not be there. This should give you a good idea if it is in your braking sytem your rear end or wether you need to start looking at front diff. or the trans. If all is good on rear end do the same thing for front diff and inspect it as well. Make sure you pull front driveline off!

Check the fuse for the four wheel drive before taking another step,it is electrically engage,hope that help you and clear your mind

If you have front disk brakes you have to remove the brake caliper to get the rotor off.

you do have to dissasemble the hubs because the rotors bolt on to them. if it is two wheel drive take the center caps off of hubs remove the spindle nuts and bearings pull complete hub assembly off and unbolt rotor from hub. if it is four wheel drive you will have to remove the lockout assembly be careful not to loose any parts from this it won't work when put back together.

Probably bad u-joints. I am not a mechanic, but just replaced mine. You may want to jack it up, remove the tire and spin the hub while looking at the u-joint right there behind the rotor. Obviously there are 2 u-joints, one for each front wheel. Not all that hard to replace, call me if you want some tricks that I learned the other day.
