MY 97 dodge dakota SLT 3.9L v6 wont start. There is gas getting to carb and the battery is fine. But i cant figure out why it wont start

The battery is flat, use booster cables to start it

You do not have a carb

They haven't been around for 25 years

Fuel Pump, may be something you would
want to test or check out.

check for fuel leaks. from the gas tank, to the fuel lines, to the carb. i assume its an electronic throttle body 2 barrel. i have seen those leak internaly from the inside of the carb/throttle body causing exsess fuel to be used. you could also have a very bad fuel/air ratio going on there. could be bad o2 sensors. but i would start with the leaking fuel first.

Donna,it does not have a carburetor,and no gas to be used up,but the fuel pump is under the hood in the relay box,I believe on the drivers side.

if battery is weak the idle air control solenoid will search for the right position and stall have battery load tested if good put in a idle air control solenoid..

dont take carb off, drain fuel from tank if you got bad gas, fill with good gas, pull fuel line off carb and turn on key if have electric fuel pump, this will clean out line. get a spray can of carb cleaner from auto store and spray carb. hook up fuel line and try to start, should clean out carb with fresh fuel
