Heater/Air air will blow out of defrost and floor vents but not dash vents

A/C is working, but only blowing through the floor vents and the two main panel vents in the center of the console. Passenger in-dash vents and the one driver side vent are not working. Is this a major and/or expensive fix?

It sounds like you had the same problem I had a while back. There is a couple of "doors" on the blower motor that sometimes get stuck or broken, I took my jeep into an offroad shop and they fixed it with spare parts. They assured me that even if you took it to the dealer it's only like a 15-30$ part but it's the shop time that will kill you.

Btw blend is air temp
the top vents are vacuum servo actuated.
one can even watch them move. at the slave.. as you turn the knob.
id make sure the vacuum cluster harness is not falling off
or damage at rear of the controls, knob panel.

I had a similar problem. Took it in and the "doors" on the blower motor were broke. Shop fixed that, but shortly after then it would blow at the dash, but would not blow at defrost or legs and every time I start the truck it makes this annoying buzzing sound for a few seconds then stops. I located where the source of the sound was coming from which sounds like in the area of the actuator, but don't know how to fix it. plus come this winter I will need my defrost back..

1996 Montero Heater Blower not working

I assume your heater setting is electric control, if so either your defrost and floor heat switch failed or wire problem. For the air not hot, check the heat control valve on the top of the hose it should be in front of the firewall. I don't know your car is using mechanic valve or electric control valve. Anyway check there first. Good luck.

What is a blender/ it is suposed to a part of the heater area

The "blender" would refer to the blend actuators that change the flow of air from floor to vent to defrost or combinations. Properly working blend doors will allow you to direct air to the dash vents, the floor, the defroster, the floor and defroster or the floor and dash vents. If it is not working the heater will still work but you will hae no control oer where the air flows.

Air blows out thru the vents but just no hot air, aslo i have to hit the dash for the air to come out thru the dash vents at times.

sounds like bad acuator motor, this is what moves the door in heater box to set hot or cold air, and other motors to set air to blow thru defrost, vent or floor. good luck.

Dash vents will not blow air. Defroster and floor vents blow fine.

Is it a new vehicle? I had a new vehicle that had the same problem. Answer was that the holes weren't punched out of the vent.

No dashboard heat output

The climate control was poorly designed on these cars.

There is only heat on the floor and defrost settings, due to the layout of the ductwork.
