Tow/haul mode enables the operator to achieve enhanced shift performance when towing or hauling a load. When tow/haul mode is selected, the tow/haul switch input signal to the body control module (BCM) is momentarily toggled to zero volts. This signals the powertrain control module (PCM) to extend the length of time between upshifts and increase transmission line pressure. Cycling the tow/haul switch again disables tow/haul mode and returns the transmission to a normal shift pattern.
Would't trust it , take an have DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes checked by a qualified repair shop with a factory or professional scan tool . Auto part stores can not check BCM code's .

Install a Scan Tool .
Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
Cycle the tow/haul switch while observing Tow/Haul Mode on the Scan Tool .
Does the Scan Tool display Active when the switch is first pressed, and then Inactive when the switch is pressed again?

That icon looks like the vehicle has been put into tow mode.
When towing or hauling a heavy load, you can activate this feature with a button on the steering wheel, stalks or dash. Activating this mode tells the on board computer to modify the shifting pattern that is better for towing a hauling a heavy load often restricting the gearbox to the lower gear ratios.
The Tow/Haul Light will come on when the system is on.
If the light flashed steadily, have the system serviced.
You need to have a diagnostic scan tool hooked up ,glitch in one of the control modules or a wire in the circuit shorting to ground ! probably something simple but hard to find ! With a factory scan tool they can check the input signal to the BCM ,PCM .
Tow/Haul mode enables the operator to achieve enhanced shift performance when towing or hauling a load. When tow/haul mode is selected, the tow/haul switch input signal to the body control module (BCM) is momentarily toggled to zero volts. This signals the powertrain control module (PCM) or transmission control module (TCM) to extend the length of time between upshifts and increase transmission line pressure. Cycling the tow/haul switch again, or cycling the ignition switch disables tow/haul mode and returns the transmission to a normal shift pattern.
That light means that the shift points have changed on the transmission. This is to get better economy when hauling. If it wont stop flashing then there is a valve in the transmission that is bad or sticking. You will have to have it removed and overhauled..
have the tires checked for belt separation or out of round
code p 0300 is random misfires and not cylinder specific
code p 0301 is for no 1 cylinder
check fuel pressures and no 1 injector for problems as it is more more fuel system problem than plugs
If that light is flashing that means there is a problem with the trany. If you continue to drive it, it will damage the trany. I suggest you get it into a trany shop as soon as possible. I guess, I would take it to a private shop, that specializes in automatic transmissions, instead of taking it to a dealer.
