Hello, I have an 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe PPV 5.3 liter, M30 4 speed automatic with 154000 well taken care of mostly highway miles. 3 days ago I had a vibration develop in the truck that starts as the car begins to move, although it is not very noticeable in 1st gear, once the truck reaches 2nd gear any attempt to apply throttle is met with the vehicle shuttering or vibrating until a higher speed is met at which time it becomes a faster vibration. I have driven to highway speeds and found it is still there and very noticeable. I have put the truck in neutral at 55 and the vibration does not disappear. The engine runs very smooth and is not misfiring. There are no check engine lights on. All fluid levels are proper. I thought at first that this might be a transmission issue, now I am not so sure. All tires have been rebalanced to no avail. ( I did not think this would fix it anyway) This problem did not slowly develop, rather it started suddenly and was noticed as I left work for the day. My car is parked for the day at work.. It seems to be getting worse quickly.

SOURCE: Hard Shifting after highway driving (1997 Chevrolet Tahoe)?

The problem sounds like your kick down cable has gone bad. There should be a cable that runs from the transmission to the linkage on the TBI(i'm assuming it is a TBI[Throttle Body Injection]) At the throttle bracket, it is the lowest cable. It should have a little plastic box and you should be able to push on the button and slide the little plastic piece in or out of the box. This will adjust your shift points, being plastic, the cable likes to slip if it gets old. Also if you have book or have access to one it should tell you how to locate and check it but usually you have to replace them once they start to slip, the one I got for my 1992 was only like 28 dollars so it's not to bad just a real pain.

SOURCE: 1998 Chevy Cavalier 2.2L: Car hesitates at idle and low speeds.

Your vehicle’s computer system has self-testing capability. When the computer senses that there is a problem with one of the components or sensors it stores the correspondent trouble code(s) in its memory and lights up the "Check Engine" or "Service Engine Soon" light to tell you that there is a problem and you need to diagnosed and repaired it. First step is to find out what the codes are that turned on the light. I would guess it is going to be a misfire code. And the head gasket leak, in the corner of the head on the side near the transmission? Common problem with the 2.2L and could be related to the poor idle. I would have the head gasket leak repair very soon before it creates more problems. Let me know if you need any other help.

SOURCE: humming noise coming from left front tire, just started two days!

If the tires are wearing normal then its not the ball joint. If it worse while turning one way and quieter turning the other way it a wheel bearing. A ball joint does'nt make a constant noise.

Engine cuts out occasionally. At low speed, medium speed, high speed. Some time it burps 2 or 3 times then won't do it the rest of the day. Another day it will miss every 5 minutes or so.

May be a bad ignition switch. Do not hang a bunch of trinkets and keys from your key ring. 2 keys at most. Perform an OBDII scan before doing any repairs. Let your scan print out be your guide to any parts replacement.

My 97 tahoe only running on 6 cylinders

If compression test is good is either no spark, bad coil or wire, or no fuel, bad fuel injector. Need to clarify which is not functioning properly.

2004 5.3 K1500 with 46K miles. Bucks and hesitates at highway speed. in 3 or OD. Runs fine at idle and running to highway speed.

Could be your fuel filter is plugged if you have one. My 2005 doesn't as there are filter screens in each injector. Find a buddy with a reader and go for a test ride with it plugged in. There are too many possibilities to mention

Some fan switche on the blower of my 2005 tahoe don't work

Look at the connector at the blower resistor. They melt. Bottom of right side of dash under the black close out panel. GM sells a repair kit for this.
