the oil filter is between the firewall and the engne, you get to it from under the car, stick a screwdriver through it and turn to remove, smear the new seal with oil and replace hand tight.after filling with oil start engine and check for leaks.
It is an internal filter. It is located in the oil pan. It has a cap on the oil pan that almost looks like you can take it off with your hand. Chances are however you cant. You can change it yourself with the correct size oil filter wrench. I wish I could tell you what size it was but I use a strap wrench to take it off. Most places sell the filter. Fram # is Ch8765.
On the V6, the filter is located on the bottom front of the engine on the passenger side. It is silver and looks like an oil filter cap wrench. It is not the traditional oil filter where you replace the entire unit. With this type you remove the cap, drain the oil, and replace the paper filter element and 2 gaskets.
to get the cap off use a standard 65mm-67mm filter wrench "end cap" that you stick on your 3/8" drive ratchet like this one..
From under the car, it's located on the passenger side of the motor.
It is straight up and down (well close, therre is a slight angle) towards the back of the block.
You probably have a canister filter which is located under the hood. You have to screw off the top of a canister and the oil filter looks like a small cylinder-like paper filter. Did you check your owners manual?
