I seem to be having the same problem. I ran mine at 2000 RPM for 30 min while parked and it just skyrockets. I observed no leaking prior to the orverheating either. All the hoses have good pressure, and the motor fan clutch seems to be running fine. The funny thing is that if I run the 4-runner in the highway it will not overheat. It only acts up when I drive it through local traffic (stop and go), making me think it might be the motor fan clutch after all. I could really use some insight or clues as to what might be wrong.
Boggled???
Same thing here. I have had everything checked and they don't know the problem.
HILUX SURF 2007 MOTOR 3RZ ERROR 33
i have a 97 4 runner same thing keeps overheating when stopped not on the highway
If so then it has to be the clutch fan because its getting the air from the high speeds not the clutch fan, put a electric fan then see what happens
To test the clutch fan before you start your van that day open the bonnet and spin one of the fan blades as hard as you can if it spins more then 5 times then it time to change the clutch fan as its not rotating enough to cool the radiator down
example 5000 rpm reduced to 1000 rpm
