When and where are you loosing power?
is it intermittent?
can you be more specific?

I would check on a tune up. Have you changed the spark plugs, wires, and the cap in a while? If not, that would help the power. Are you getting bad gas mileage now? If so, spark plugs. If not, check your vaccum hoses for a leak.

Check the transmission fluid and make sure that it is within the operating limits indicated by the dipstick. Dont forget to check it while the engine is running otherwise the reading will be wrong.

When was the last time you did a tuneup? plugs, wires, cap and rotor.

Which engine does your forerunner have? They are not known for overheating, so you may have a problem in your cooling system. Is the system losing water? The first thing to do is get a pressure test of the cooling system done. At the same time ask them to test the thermostat. If all ok, Have the engine and radiator reverse flushed, and add corrosion inhibitor. Should be ok after this is done.
