Recently had jeep overheat on highway due to faulty thermostat. Replaced it and flushed coolant system, seemed to ok other than a slightly rough idle. Now the engine light is back on and it is running really rough when idling, the check engine light actually started to flash today...Any ideas?
Check your oil if it's a creamy color it means that you blew the head gasket and that will be the cause of the light flashing as it has now picked up the problem and stored it in the ecu
Will also need to clear the ecu from all fault codes
Warped heads will cause this...if it over heated badly thats going to be the problem

code readers are super cheap today, I carry one in each of my newer cars, that being said, sounds like you need to clean out the throttle body and look at the spark plugs,, I assume the car warms up to the correct temp? and the thermo stat and block were rinsed out and installed correctly.
