My jeep has the same problem, while im driving it starts to sputter as if running out of gas. Then it died and wouldn't start. The no starting issue was my starter going out, I fixed that but the sputtering kept happening and proceeded to get worse. I found out that my gas cap pressure valve was sticking and not letting out pressure. I loosened the cap and it seems to be working so far. Try checking your gas cap.

How can I five pace fuel pump relay switch on a 1994 jeep Cherokee Laredo 4.0 four-wheel-drive thank you.

The fuel pump relay switch on a 1994 Jeep Cherokee Laredo 4.0 four-wheel-drive is located in the Power Distribution Center (PDC) under the hood. It is labeled as "Fuel Pump Relay" and is the fourth relay from the left.

While driving 2001 grand Jeep cherokee laredo it started sputtering and stopped as if out of gas( it was not) and the check engine light came on. I'm thinking fuel filter or pump?

When they sputter it is mostly the fuel pump. One way to check is hit the bottom of the tank in the center. The vibration will jar the pump and most times they will start pumping again. This is not a fix, you still have to replace the pump. This is just an easy way to make sure your changing the right part.

1994 jeep grand cherokee laredo starting problems

Check to see if the fuel pump is running after it shuts down...could be a relay or the pump itself (overheating internally) Checked the fuel filter yet? Some crank sensors need to be shimmed. If it's too close to the flywheel even though you recently changed it, if it's too close to the wheel it can fail again. May not be the case but worth checking over. Also check the ceramic resistor on the left fender near the master cylinder if you have one. That too can cause problems.

Engine dies numerous times a day.

Have you thought about it possibly being the engine that has something wrong with it? Have you checked the cylinders?

1995 Jeep grand cherokee is missing while running. When it is under a heavy load (driving fast) it runs fine. When idleing and slow driving it spits and sputters.

I have the same problem on my 95 grand cherokee laredo. Sometimes it starts out fine and after about 10 miles it starts spitting and sputtering. Then after a while it seems to clean out and run fine again for a little while. Then other times it starts out spitting and sputtering at the begining. I changed the fuel filter and that was not it. It is a 4.0L 6cyc. Any Ideas?

Thanks,

94 jeep grand cherokee laredo V8 5.2l automatic. Drives fine but after 10-15 mins of driving After its parked it makes loud popping noise from the rear. Cant locate where the sound is exactly coming from....

You can check fluid level by removing the rubber plug in the cover. Fluid is full when on level ground, it is just at the edge of the hole (or very close) if you are already getting noises out of there, you can remove the cover and inspect gears for wear or breakage. If you find a large amount of metal debris in the lube it tells you something bad is going on back there. Although rebuildable, it's not a home job...requires exact settings in order to operate properly. You can find good units far cheaper than even a gearset costs in any scrapyard. to match ratio, count the teeth on the ring gear and the pinion gear. the replacement MUST have the exact same number. Before swapping diffs, check all back there to make sure noise is not from somewhere else.

2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo started smoking!

Fill the rad and check for leaks. Bring the engine temp up to normal, if necessary. Try not to spill any water when filling the rad, if you do, let it dry before starting the car, JKust makes it easier to find the leak. Frankster016
