I have 2009 Honda Pilot and the right front suspension makes a knocking/rattle sound at slightest encounter of pavement inperfections. I am not talking about potholes but normal road conditions. Even taking speed humps at a crawl causes knocking. I am thinking stut, upper, lower arm, ball joints, etc. My logic makes me think suspension issues.?? I have never taken off highway or abusive conditions. Winter causes asphalt issues and like most I cannot avoid every pothole. Still under warranty and I hope Honda Dealership will not attempt to charge me. Your opinion?

I have the same exact problem. Two trips to Honda says everything is tight in the suspension but they agree there is a noise there. Have you fixed it?

SOURCE: Shaking Car

Front end alignment. Worn and loose wheel, idler arm, tie rod ends , ball joints and or pitman arm. Have front end alignment and parts tested or get under unit and start moving the parts and see what is loose then replace it/them. Most likely is the idler arm.You will still have to have the front end realigned after relacing worn, loose, parts.

SOURCE: loud noise/bang from the back of the car when going over bumps

You more than likely have one of two problems. One of your shock absorbers has a broken attachment bracket or 2) You have a broken exhaust bracket to your muffler. To check the shock just have the vehicle on a flat area motor turned off with emergency brake on and go to each side and "bounce" the vehicle using your body weight. Then to check the exhaust do this when motor is completely cool motor off emergency brake on and chock the tires so there is no chance the vehicle will roll. Get under the rear and attempt to move the exhaust assembly. If it moves to any degree side to side etc then it is this. If the vehicle bounces excessively when you bounce on it then it is the shock - repair accordingly. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: car shut off after hitting lg. pothole

Hi

It should be by the drivers door foot-well.

If its not that, could be the cam sensor.

Good Luck !

Please give me a FixYa rating.

How to remove transmission on honda pilot

In order to pull the transmission on a honda pilot it all comes out from the bottom. You must remove the front suspension all the engine harness, pipes and hoses unbolt the suspension subframe bolts and drop the whole thing at one time. Use a suspension lift designed for this or you could drop it and loose it.

Knocking when driving over the slightest bump, sounds like it is coming from the front driver side. Dealer claims nothing is wrong.

Find another dealer before the warranty runs out. Get the name of the factory Honda regional tech rep from the new dealer, write him and tell him your experience with the first dealer.

I have a Rattle sound in the driver's side seat belt of my 2009 Honda Pilot. I am wondering if I can fix it myself.

Depends on what is making the noise. the cover thats over the belt just clips on. pop it off and see. if it is a spring you will have to replace the whole mechanism. if it is a bolt you can try to tighten it . I have taken it apart before and found money.
