I would try the regulator, there is a few tests to see if the alternator is charging, use a multi meter and check the b post on the alternator and earth and see what voltage it is producing, check all those sort of things and you will find the problem, make sure the battery terminals are very clean or they won't accept charge as well, hope this helps
Have you replaced the voltage regulator? Unless you have changed the charging system and eliminated it, the alternator does not have a built-in voltage regulator like the newer ones do. Be blessed.
The max charge voltage is usually around 14.5 volts, so 14.4 is not high. Its possible the battery has a dead cell and that is causing the acid problem. You might want to check with the dealer on what the max voltage is for your car.
Alternator maybe charging , but not enough to keep the battery charged which is causing the battery to drop charge. Most likely it's the voltage regulator inside the alternator. but regardless the whole alternator will have to be replaced. This will eventually cause the new battery cells to go bad.
You have a weak battery and it needs to be charged. It may also need to be replaced if it will not hold a charge. I would recommend checking the alternator voltage. The alternator may not have enough output voltage and therefore the battery is not being charged up. The alternator should have a voltage of about 14.2-14.4 volts, any less and the alternator should be replaced.
Though some voltage is required to make the alternator operate, aside from that, the alternator needs to be in good condition to work. Therefore, putting a new battery in the car won't make a bad alternator operate. Check the wiring going to the alternator and if it is in good condition and the drive belt is tight, have the alternator checked...many larger parts stores will do that for you free.
MERCEDES C200 Kompressor 2001. battery alternator visit workshop is flashing on trip computer. i have replaced alternator. everything is ok. battery getting charge... i cant see any thing wrong so why workshop flashing?? maybe something wrong with new alternator 4 exampel voltage sensor??
check fuse and fuse links.you alternator is not receiving power .you have a open fuse or fuse link.alternator need battery power in order to charge battery.
