1996 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera will not start. need to know were the fuel relay is located. we thing its the fuel pump but would like to try the relay first. car ran on friday. started to check tail lights...

I would check the fuses in the fuse box first there might be a fuse for the fuel pump that's burnt out.As far as the relays it should say on the inside of the cover to the engine compartment fuse box.If you have the owners manual it should say in there also.

I have a 1999 jeep cherokee that wont start. it's not getting fire to the distributor. what may be the problem?

Most likely the ignition coil assembly, in some cases the ignition module is faulty.

No power to the fuel pump (used electrical circuit tester down at the pump) fuse blocks under hood seem ok 40 engine quit suddenly. spark ok.

Check the fuel pump relay which is under the hood behind the battery. You'll see 2 turn clips to remove the cover. It should be the 2nd relay as your looking at the car.

Replace fuel pump-stil no start

Was it empty when you parked it? (i.e. did someone drain the tank, and put sugar in it? something like that?) If not... the fuel filter could be clogged. Check that. Most cars of this age are fuel injected, so the fuel at the fuel filter will be under high pressure. Chiltons manuals usually discuss how to de-pressurize the line if needed. But you probably already dealt with this changing the fuel pump. Good to hear it's turning over. After (finding) the filter... check to see if any fuel is making it through the filter. Turn the ignition to "on" and it will likely start the fuel pump and spray fuel everywhere (if you disconnect the filter output.).... besides having a mess, you will know your fuel pump works. (Try attaching a hose from the fuel filter output to a bucket to prevent a mess and possible fire please ). Can you hear the fuel pump running? Could be a blown fuse for the fuel pump.

1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee Fuel Pump?

I don't remember seeing any fuses for that on the one I have...It's dark out now and I don't have a light that is working out there. I;ll look tomorrow but like I said, don't remember seeing one, and I've been through that system hundreds of times. Only two palces it would be is in the power dis center near the battery or in the under-dash block. If the relay failed before, it was likely because the pump draw was too high, so youre on the right track.
