PO300 - Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected

When a misfire occurs, engine speed will fluctuate. If the engine speed fluctuates enough to cause the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor (POS) signal to vary, Powertrain Control Module (PCM) or Electronic Control Module (ECM) can determine that a misfire is occurring.

Causes:
- Improper spark plug
- Insufficient compression
- Incorrect fuel pressure
- The injector circuit is open or shorted
- Fuel injectors may be faulty
- Intake air leak
- The ignition signal circuit is open or shorted

Solutions:
- Perform Injector Service
- Replace Spark Plugs
- Replace Injectors
- Replace Ignition Coils

What does po 305 cylinder 4 misfire mean? Po 316 misfire on startup? po 300 random misfire? Po 305 Cylinder 5 misfire?

Hi Micaela:
I'd be looking for ignition problems like shorting out spark plug leads or a bad distributor cap. Try running it in a really dark place and see if you can see sparks around the plug wires.

PO 171 and PO 300 CODE GMC ENVOY

the sensor to replace is the HO2S sensor which is different to an O2 sensor. (has a different function)
code p0300 is random/multiple misfires
as misfires are from the electrical components you did not pay attention to items like low fuel pressure and faulty injectors which also cause random misfires.

Po 300 code

That's a random misfire. It could be bad plugs, wires, coils, intake gaskets and a whole lot of other things. You need to have that diagnosed by a mechanic. The cause of my po300 code was a bad intake gasket found by the random misfire of cylinders 1 and 2 so it was at the front of the vehicle the mechanic spayed something around the front of the intake and the rpm's increased. bad gasket sucking to much air into those cylinders and causing a false misfire. I say false cause it did fire the gasses produced where not right the computer did not like the extra air

Po316, po 300, po301, po305 2004 ford freestar

These codes are making me lean towards the ignition coil pack.My stepson's 2001 Sable 3.0 v6 had one cylinder misfiring(5-code P0305),which shares a coil with cylinder 1(code P0301).I diagnosed it by trading wire 1 and 5 at the coil, and the code changed to P0301.You have codes for the two cylinders on the same coil,so this is most likely it.(these codes would also trigger P0300(Multiple Misfires Detected) and P0316(Misfire Detected First 1000 Revs)).

He is showing a 300 code and he has changed plugs, wires, fuel injectors, intake gaskets, fuel pump, gas tank, gas cap, not sure what else to change

Year, make , model and engine size? have you tried to identify which cylinders are misfiring? Have you looked at EGR? If stuck open can cause multiple random cylinder misfires.

Engine Random Misfire code PO-300

P0300 is for random miss-fire, loose or defective gas-cap, water in the fuel, damaged vacuum line, clogged fuel and/or air filter, faulty plugs and/or wires, fuel injectors. These are more common reasons, there are others but this a good start.
