Problem might be related to the ambient temperature and/or humidity.
Good scanner software will indicate faults that are pending, that might cause trouble in the future or occasionally but not switch on the engine light and record a fault.
There is no substitute for careful and systematic manual checking in a back to basics fashion. It would have been helpful if you had described rough running more fully - was it hunting, surging, misfiring?
The first two can be associated with air/fuel mixture and the latter is often related to worn spark plugs, poor spark or perhaps even a failing cylinder head gasket.

It is very likely the part that is giving you the problem is a Crankshaft Position Sensor, they go open circuit when they get hot, then after it cools it becomes a good circuit again, this is very frustrating, had the same issue with my Buick a few years ago, replaced the coils and the ignition module at a cost of hundreds, DID NOT CHANGE A THING, the crank sensor fixed the problem and was $30.00 from Buick.

Sounds like your car is overheating. If you have a temp gauge it should show that. If you just have an idiot light, by the time it comes on it's already too hot to operate. AFTER the car is cooled down, open the radiator cap to see how much coolant has been lost. Chances are there is alot missing. Add WATER (no sense in adding coolant if it's going to leak out) and idle the car at home. Look underneath as it warms up to find where the leak is.

It turned out the ground wire to the battery was loose, Evidently, it loosened up when driving so mimiced the earlier symptoms because it connection was sporadic. I hooked up to a computer to verify after connection tightened and it came away with no errors or problems.
