My 99 jeep grand cherokee limited isnt starting and the no key symble is on. The car wont start, and it keeps killing the battery, and the only thing is that the no key symble and the car not starting didnt pop up till today. I started the car yesterday but had to jump it yesterday, but i tried to jump it today and nothing happened. What do i do?
" i tried to jump it today and nothing happened." Define? Does this mean the starter won't run or that the engine cranks but won't start? The drained battery could mean a failed alternator. These are basically AC generators and they have semiconductor diodes in them that convert the AC to DC for the system and charge voltage. If one fails (shorts) this will cause the battery to discharge through the failed part. You should have the alternator checked; this is done free at any chain auto parts store but you will have to get the vehicle or the alternator there first.
If you remove the battery, always disconnect the negative (ground) cable before the positive to avoid shorting the battery to ground and damaging battery and tools." i tried to jump it today and nothing happened."

Sounds like you need to perform a relearn on the anti theft system, it's not recognizing the key if this happens with the key inserted. Might want to look online for a reset procedure for Jeep. GM has you keeping the key in the ignition in the on position for 10 minutes.
when your car does not start it could be a number of things starting with your power system check your battery conections alternator output and battery voltage they should all read 12.6 volts
sounds alot the the pcm it controls the fuel pump and ign system but the anti theft would keep it from starting because the key has a transponder in it programmed for that vehicle and that would kill all ign if triggered
try the 15 amp fuse under the hood by the battery if its blown put in a 20.
turn on the key and wait for all the ligth to go out then try it if it dosnt start the first time do it a 2nd same thing
hope it helps
