Question about 2000 Chevrolet Silverado

1 Answer

2000 chevorlet silverado 2500 w 6.0 liter. Vehicle dies after start has rough idle and smells like fuel under heavy acceleration. Vehicle also bogs down when stopping heavier then usually. I have tested and monitored all sensors and fuel pressure. Vehicle has new injectors/ egr valve/ plugs/ wires/ maf sensor/ idle air control valve/ fuel filter/ fuel pump/ and has had fuel system clean. Could this possibly be a fuel regulator.

Sounds like a ruptured diaphram in the fuel pressure regulator. Fuel is being sucked into the motor through the vacuum line. remove vacuum line off regulator and see if there is fuel, or odor of fuel in the line , if so , the regulator is bad. Good Luck

I have a 2003 chevy silverado with a 4.3 liter v-6, its misfireing bad and I have changed the plugs and wires, MAP sensor, and MAF sensor but no change. What could it be.

You may need to check the engine timing, that would be the first thing,, 4.3 is also bad about leakes in the fuel lines that are under the intake manifold. this is part of the fuel injection system, it will cause it to rough idle, but will accelerate fine, but when come to stop, will have a rough idle.

My 1995 ford explorer 4.0 liter won't start but turns over strong battery is strong and i smell fuel so i think it's getting fuel what can this be it's benn runnung very well this just started today and...

Hold the accelerator all the way to the floor and use another vehicle to allow you to crank it for a very long time to get it started. You could be flooding the vehicle if the idle air control valve is stuck. When it acts up you may be able to start and run the vehicle at open throttle, but the vehicle will die if you try to idle. You can remove the idle air control valve electrical connector (top of the motor), remove and clean with Q-tips and goo gone from Walmart (turpentine or mineral spirits or other degreasing solvent. Replace and try to start and run again.

Fuel/accelerator problems. dies when accelating or at idle. runs when accelerator held in one position for a short while.

CHECK THE IDLE SPEED SENSOR, UNPLUG IT AND SEE IF THE VEHICLE REVS UP A BIT. IF IT DOES, THEN REPLACE IT. ALSO CHECK THE FUEL PUMP RELAY IN THE FUSEBOX. HOPE THIS HELPS. .LET ME KNOW. GOOD LUCK
