Hi transmission problems on WJ and onwards model jeeps seem to be a large problem here in australia. generally they dont like excessive heat. First thing i would do is get your transmission serviced and a diagnostic check done to find out whats causing the trouble codes to bring those lights up on your dash. secondly if you live a warm climate i would consider upgrading to a larger transmission cooler, (a large oil cooler will do the job if installed correctly provided its rated to the pressure) heat kills transmissions and that is what sounds like your problem is.
cheers hope it helps

I have a grandcherokee laredo straight six model 2000.It turns off will im driving then i pull over and restart it and it runs with no problem. Also the motor shakes and losses power .

It would help to know if fuel pressure drops when it fails, or if spark drops out. You could hook up a fuel pressure gauge that you can see from the driver's seat, and use a real time scan tool to see what is happening when it fails.

02 Jeep Grand Cherokee jumps out of overdrive while driving on highway.

The torque converter is where OD takes place. Look at your transmission fluid cooler to see if it's blocked. The TCM module controls the OD functions so it may not be sending the correct signals.

Why does jeep only go in part-time 4-wheel drive and not full time?

Are you having trouble shifting into 4wd?

Some of the GrandCherokees come with full time 4wheel drive viscous coupling inside of the transfer case and some have teh 242 TC which allow you siwtch between 2wd, 4hi, N, 4lo.

Overdrive cuts off buy itself while driving

when the transmission overheat light (this is for the fluid) comes on the transmission control module pulls the trans out of OD to try and cool it down, this is called failure mode strategy, it is built into the programming of the control module, the signal from the trans is most likely incorrect, but the module doesn't know that, replace the transmission fluid temperature sensor.
