A plyiers works or a flat head screw driver will also work.

A diagram of the flushing of a radiator and block of a chevrolet blazer LS 2000

Theres no such thing as a diagram, here are the draining instructions, hope this helps...
  • 1-Place a large drain pan beneath the radiator drain plug. The drain plug is located on the passenger side at the very bottom of the radiator on the engine side.

  • 2-Make sure the engine is cool. Open the hood of the truck and remove the radiator cap.
  • 3-Loosen the drain plug. On the 2000 Blazer, the drain plug is a wing-nut type of plug. Twist it with your fingers until the coolant begins to drain.

  • *To flush the block, once you have drained the radiator, run the engine for a bit untill the temp gauge goes up to normal, then the coolant will have been evacuated from the block. DO NOT leave the engine on, once it reaches normal temp, (this will happen quick) turn off right away, otherwise you'll be forking out a few hundred $$$ to fix the worped heads.
4-Tighten the drain plug with your fingers once the coolant has drained fully from the radiator. Remove the drain pan and dispose of the used coolant properly.
Some service stations will take and recycle your used coolant.
    Hope this helps...

I want to flush the radiator on my 2001 gmc jimmy. Is the radiator draincock covered by a plastic shielding? Also does the draincock have an O-ring that would need to be replaced? Thanks. Ian v.

there should be a drain **** on either side of the lower radiator. you might have to remove the splash guard to get to it easier, If it is not leaking then the o ring does not need replaced when you drain, the drain plug does not have to be removed all the way, it has a drain hole on it when the plug is loosened to a certain point it will allow to drain. If you remove all the way then go ahead and inspect o ring and replace before installing again. but always lube an old or new rubber o ring with (oil) before installing. Installing a dry rubber o ring will result in possible failure.

Doubtfull, I don't have all of them and I've spent thousands on my tools. I can do a guessing game with you but I prefeer not to lead you astray.

Cant find drain plug on radiator for 2000 ford expedition

The radiator drain plug is on passenger side of the radiator tank at the bottom. You can use pliers to loosen it. Be careful that it does NOT come out, only loosen it enough to drain the anti freeze.

Where is the drain plug on the radiator buick regal 2000

Many newer automobile no longer have a Radiator Drain ****. If you do have one it will be located near the bottom of one of the Radiator Tanks in the "Most Inaccessible place imaginable". All you need to do is loosen the Hose Clamp on the Lower Radiator Hose and work the Hose free to drain the system. Be careful not to damage the Plastic Radiator Tank in the process of loosening the Hose.

    Radiator drain plug

It's probably located under the splash guard and should have either an internal hex head, an external hex (like a bolt head), or both. You can also drain the radiator by pulling the lower radiator hose.

    RADIATOR DRAIN PLUG

I was able to reach up there with a small 1/4" socket driver and a small extension. Not easy, you will probably make a bit of a mess. Takes a little patience. I also suggest flushing the whole coolant system and putting in the green coolant.
