I have a problem with a 1992 toyota pickup. It has the 22RE, and when it's cold outside, the engine will rapidly throttle up to around 3000rpm, then drop back down to 1500, then continue bouncing back and forth. This continues, sometimes even when the engine is warm. I've watched the throttle, and it doesn't move when the rpm's do.

There isn't a camshaft sensor. The distributor has a control module and a pick up coil inside of it, 1 or both could be bad, it's usually best to replace both. Some parts stores can test them. The is also an Electronic Spark Control Module. I would check the pick up coil and control module.

It sounds like the cluster is gone bad if everything is not working. Usually, if just the speedometer isn't working then it's the speed sensor on the transmission that has gone bad. But I think you have a cluster that has just died. Check on EBAY for a used cluster and ask them to roll the mileage to what is on your vehicle now.

Replace the oil pressure sensor located near the oil filter. When this part starts to fail you will see your oil pressure gauge bounce all around
