When stopped at lights oil light flashes.. My oil level is fine. What could it be?

What is make, model, engine? Also, how many miles?

Worn bearings in a high mile engine could let pressure fall causing light to illuminate. Also, a combination of worn bearings and a too low idle speed could produce the same result. Does the engine make any knocking sounds?

This is a common sign of a bad oil pressure sender, but could also be caused by low oil pressure, a sender is cheap, but it"s always smart to do a pressure test first with a mechanical gauge, you can obtain a mechanical gauge from most automotive parts stores. then you"ll have to locate and remove the oil pressure sender and install the gauge you bought. make your test at warm idle you should have at least 25 psi below that you may very possible have worn engine bearings making it impossible for the engine to have any better oil pressure at idle. if you have 25 or greater psi of pressure at idle replace your oil sender and you"ll be back on the road

That could be because of low idle at a stop light and the oil pump doesn't turn fast enough to make the oil pressure high but if you push the gas then the light will go off and all i can see is that the pressure of your oil gets low at idle. make sure your ca idles at least at 1000 RPM if does that at 1000 Rmp then you can just ignore it because as soon as you move then your oil pressure will increase and thats fine and enough to get the engine to lubricate Good luck

SOURCE: Red oil light flashing

This may be your oil pressure indicator as well as level. If you are losing oil pressure you want to get that looked at as soon as possible. If you have an oil pressure failure your engine will lose lubrication and will overheat and seize up. You would end up replacing your engine if you run it without oil pressure. I reccomend having a garage look at it possibly with a scan tool as well.

SOURCE: my check oil light comes on when I come to a stop

Hi. Due to the fact that the oil level is fine, This will indicate that there may be some sludge build up in the block, or the oil pressure switch is damaged. The more serious issue will be a failing oil pump. To isolate the issue, simply, have a oil pressure test ran on this engine. If the test indicates that the true oil pressure is optimal at idle, kindly replace the oil pressure switch. Now, if the test proves that the pressure is indeed lower than factory specifications, this will confirm that the pump is damaged. Have the pump, and oil pump screen replaced, in this case.

NOTE_ I would, also, recommend to have the engine flushed asap.

SOURCE: Oil pressure sensor light comes on and oil level is fine

This is probably an oil pressure sensor problem.  Randomly going from 0 to over 130 is means the sensor is putting out out of range signals.  Mine would even read --- at times.  I told the mechanic to not spend any time troubleshooting just change the sensor.  $121 including parts, labor and tax.  The gage should read about 70 psi plus or minus several psi, and move up a PSI or two as you rev up the engine.  It took him about 10 minutes to change it, once he got the part.  There would have been a diagnostic charge of about $50, had I not been sure.

Oil warning light flashing mean?

Normally, if you get a oil warning light signal (flashing) could be a few things related to it. Number one, you are low on oil. Check your oil level and make sure it is at full level. Number two, is possibly oil filter is dirty, ( time for service, oil change) or problem with oil pump or oil pump pressure. BUT I would first start with checking oil level and then maybe a oil change.

Oil light flashing and beeps. it only comes on after driving a min or two

Make sure there is enough oil in it! This is the main reason the oil light comes on flashing and beeping. Possibly a faulty oil sensor if the oil level id fine.

Oil light flashing on v.w bora oil level is fine

This is either a bad oil pressure switck or the oil pressure is too low. the low pressure is caused by a stopped up oil strainer or a bad oil pump.
