First you have to take off the black plastic cover then you will see the 3 on the front of the engine the other 3 are under the manifold, you have to remove the manifold in order to reach them, I suggest you take the car to a mechanic for this work.

Correct, its called the Plenum.... And it has to be removed.. you can loosen MOST of the things hooked to it, such as electrical plugs and EGR valve, ect and then "flop" it over out of the way.. you will need a new gasket for it before reinstalling it..
Sounds complicated, but it isnt...

SOURCE: Hose from water pump to intake manifold above and behind water pu

this is a water pump bypass hose connector to the manifold, take the broken piece to a parts store and show it to them, it should have the threads still broken off in the manifold so explain that. To remove the broken piece ask for a EZ OUT to fit the piece you took to the store.
It is common for these to become brittle and break off but it is a simple fix.

We r trying to change the spark plugs in a 2002 kia sedona. and we r trying to take the intake manifold off but wont come off. we have loosened every bolt. any suggestions? thanks..

According to what I can find, you don't need to take the intake manifold off:
3.5L Engine

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
WARNING When disconnecting the cable, only pull on the plug cable boot, never on the wire itself!
  2. Detach the spark plug cable from the spark plug.
  3. Use spark plug wrench to remove the spark plug(s) from the cylinder head.
WARNING Do not let any dirt or debris get into the engine through the spark plugs holes while when are removed.

To install:
  1. Install the spark plug and tighten to 15-22 ft. lbs. (20-30 Nm). Do not over-tighten the spark plug.
  2. Attach the spark plug wire(s) to the spark plug(s).
  3. Connect the negative battery cable.

How To Change The Spark Plugs On A 2002-2005 Kia Sedona 3.5 Liter

You'll need to remove the oil cap and the 6 bolts holding on the engine cover. The front 3 spark plugs are pretty easy to replace. You'll need to unplug the spark plug wire from the coil and disconnect the electrical connector. Unbolt the 2 10mm bolts holding the coil to the valve cover. Twist the coil and boot back and forth and pull it out of the cylinder head. The spark plug is down in the head, you'll need at least a 6 inch extension with a 5/8" spark plug socket, a telescopic magnet will help get the spark plug out of the head. The back 3 spark plugs involve removing the upper intake and throttle body, unbolt the bracket to the throttle body, and the bracket bolted to the upper intake manifold. on the back side of the engine. Remove the tubing from the throttle body to the air cleaner box. Unbolt anything else bolted to the upper intake. Unplug electrical connectors to the throttle body and any other electrical connectors on the upper intake and remove the upper intake bolts. And move the upper intake out of the way, there are only spark plug wires on the back 3 plugs. Twist and turn each boot to aid in removing the boot from the plug. I would get a new upper intake gasket and consider replacing the wires at this time also. There are actually only 3 spark plug wires, so for what is involved to get to them, I would replace them. I have found alot of the wires will arc to the upper intake manifold.

I have a Kia Sedona 2005. I'm trying to change th...

There are three on the front side of the motor, there are ignition coils and boots are each of them. Unbolt and remove the coil, they are down in the cylinder head, you'll need a ratchet and a 6 inch extension and 5/8 inch socket to remove them. The three on the back side are under the top of the intake manifold. You'll need to remove the top half of the intake to get to them.

Change spark plug wires on 04 kia sedona

REMOVAL OF THE PLUGS:

Do not attempt any maintenance on spark plug if engine is hot.
1. Disconnect negative battery terminal.
2. Carefully remove high-tension leads.
3. Use compressed air to blow any dirt or debris from around spark plug hole.
4. Check that spark plug fits squarely in spark plug socket and remove spark plug.

Raise a vehicle and install SST(OK552 131 001) in order to replace cylinder 2, 4, 6 spark plug.

INSTALLATION:

1. Install spark plug into cylinder head.

Tightening torque : 18~22lb-ft (25~30N·m, 2.5~3.0kg-m)

2. Reconnect high-tension leads.
3. Reconnect negative battery cable.

Hope this helps and simple to understand. Good luck

2004 kia sedona 6 cly ... how to change the spark plugs anyone???

Hope not too late to help. I have changed all plugs 2 times now myself. Mine is a 6 cylinder. The rear 3 plugs are impossible to remove without unbolting the intake manifold and other contraptions like the throttle/cruise control cable and 4 inch air intake tube. If you have engine work experience, great! If not, color code every disconnect then match up on the reinstall including plug cables.
Here is where you might not know what to do. First, the gasket (Planum) is a reusable metal gasket. Their is no replacement at Kia (crazy but I asked everywhere in NC) so be sure to tighten each bolt on the intake alternating and to speck amount, a 12 foot socket 1/4 inch wrench is plenty of torque so don't overdo it. I believe 15 lbs of torque is correct but verify. If you like taking risks just tighten using your wrist only (not biceps mustle) as tight as you can using wrist only now! [Rent a torque wrench or buy for $10 - $20 if you don't own one].
Since your doing all this work, change all plug wires and only use Platinum or better plugs that last at least 60k miles of use. You wont be able to change back 3 wires later by the way so buy 3 OEM Kia wires (not the kit) to save money if you want. I mixed plugg types and mine ran just fine!!

Plan on 4 meticulous hours your first time. My 2nd time took 1.5 hrs with a short break.
