I have a 2000 Saturn sl2 and it won't start...it is getting fuel and spark and the only code it is throwing is for the throttle position sensor...the last time it ran it started and ran for a second and then died and has not started since... Any ideas?

Absolutely if the TPS throttle position is out how can your EFI computer communicate with it if it is malfunctioning!!! Replace the throttle position switch and drive on

2000 sl2 saturn bucks while driving unless i floor the gas pedal

Have the codes read, even if there is no light on. This can be from one end of fuel/air problems to the other. Too much fuel, not enough air. Too much air, not enough fuel. First thing would be to clean the throttle body. The plate and where it sets inside of it. Brake clean and a tooth brush.

Saturn sl2 problems

Have you checked the fuel injectors? Fuel filter? Fuel pump? Sounds to me like you have a fuel delivery problem.

Try the following: remove the airbox and spray some starter fluid into the throttle body while someone else cranks the motor. If it starts for a second and dies, then you KNOW you have a fuel delivery problem. If it doesn't change and still won't start, then the problem is either a bad sensor somewhere (crank position sensor, maybe?) or no compression.

I have a 2000 Saturn SL2 that was sitting for a about 2 years. So far we have replaced the engine computer, ignition coil and spark plugs. The engine is still running rough, it ramps up and down on it's...

Change the gas (and the oil, with Synthetic). The gas loses it's volatility after just a few months and starts to go bad. Siphon all the gas out and put in a fresh tank. Let us know if that helps.

2000 saturn sl stalls when started unless you press accelerator- service engine light is on.

you need to find out what code is in the computer,it may be the throttle position sensor that has gone bad and needs to be pushed to tell the computer that it needs fuel(may not be a signal sent back to the ecm)in the rest position.but the code will tell you were to start the diagnoses.also the throttle plate may need cleaning as they get dirty and need cleaning from time to time.

I have a 2000 saturn sl2, when i go out to start it i usually have to crank it over several times to get it to start, or i can hold the pedal to the floor and it will start, could the fuel pump be loosing...

sounds like the fuel regulator might be bad. it can cause too much fuel at start up. thats why it will start at wide open throttle. more air for the fuel mixture
