We have a 2001 jeep cherokee laredo and the code that came up with the check engine light was P0456. When we took it to autozone they said it was something with the evap system or a vaccum tube. While looking under the hood we noticed a broken par coming off the front of the engine. "PVC elbow and gromet". Fixed that and still can't get the engine light to go off. Advice?

The OBDll system will need to be reset with a scanner. Waiting for the computer to do a system can take time and mileage.

How to fix obd 2 PO456 on jeep grand cherokee laredo 2002

Usually this P0456 code is caused by an incorrect or faulty gas cap. Filling the fuel tank with the engine running could conceivable cause this code as well or if the cap wasn't properly tightened. Any of the following could also be the cause:
  • A small leak in any of the EVAP hoses or fuel tank hoses
  • A small leak in the purge valve or vent valve
  • The EVAP Canister may be leaking

Chrysler products are notorious for the crankshaft sensor going out and causing the symptoms you are describing. It also won't set a code to turn the check engine light on.

Just bought a 2004 laredo, check engine light was on, DEQ said it was the 02 sensors, took it to the dealer they replaced the AIS motor and said it would fix the problem. about 2hrs later the engine light...

Take it to your local autozone and let them run the code check on it they can tell you why it is on and it is free, also the 02 sensors are not the same as the AIS motor could just be the o2 sensors need to be changed!

Grand cherokee laredo 2001 the engine light its turn on what should be the problem

There could be multiple things wrong there is a scan tool that can tell you what the problem is. Autozone does this service for free once they check it there will be a code to explain what is wrong.
